Just returned from the best experience gorge walking led by John! We thoroughly enjoyed this exciting, breathtaking experience celebrating my friend's 30th bday! Would highly recommend this activity if you're looking for something fun and adventurous!

My boyfriend and booked a gorge walk, and ended up having a very private and excellent tour with Jeff and Brendan. Jeff was incredibly kind and took some fantastic photos and videos of us; a service which was most unexpected and we are immensely grateful for as we now have pictures to show family and friends and to remember the day by. We had such an excellent day, it was everything and more than we were expecting, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if we ended up booking again sometime! It was also great to have a bit of survival skills thrown in at the same time!

I am writing this review after a second superb outing with Jeff and his team, having organised a much enjoyed gorge walk with mountain and river activites, last October. This time we returned with a group of close friends for my wife's birthday to relax round the fire pit at the Clyngwyn bunkhouse (again highly recommended) and do take activities with Jeff and his team. Our group chose either a 1/2 day gorge walking or bushcraft activity. I am thankful to say both the bushcraft group and the gorge walkers got huge amounts out of their experiences and all were beaming later that night. Everyone remarked on the professionalism and integrity of the instructors. For some it was an enjoyable step into the unknown, for others something a little more, and for 1 or 2 - something life altering as they faced off deep fears to get into the water, and re emerged with a new confidence and understanding of themselves. I know that the calmness emanating from Jeff and co instructor Mark were key to this experience. I can't recommend it highly enough. We will be back next year to try a more involved bushcraft course. We had a simply fantastic day gorge walking with Jeff and mark. There were 17 of us aged from 9 to 50 something and we all shared a memorable experience. Jeff and mark were cracking hosts and I wouldn't look further than mountain and river activities if you are coming to brecon. They are first class. Mark from tunbridge wells.

Mountain and River Activities organised a gorge walking tour down the the River Mellte for our small group during the summer of 2012. The tour was led by Jeff, who we all found very helpful, engaging and knowledgeable about all aspects of our trip. We all had a fantastic time (highly recommend gorge walking ! ) in this beautiful part of Wales and though some may feel the activity a bit 'adventurous', were well looked after by Jeff and team and provided with thorough safety instruction and equipment. Included in our group was my young child, so all ages can enjoy with the aid of an expert guide ! Aside from the exhilarating nature of splashing down the middle of a river, we were also impressed by Jeff's knowledge of the local flora and fauna; we now know how to prepare several edible plants found in the wild and others to avoid ! I highly recommend Mountain and River Activities to anyone who likes the outdoors.

We booked in a group of 11 for a full days canyoning as part of stag weekend. The activity itself was brilliant, all the lads enjoyed it despite nursing some serious hangovers. No one was made to do anything they didn't want to do and those that did want to push themselves were allowed to. The instructors, Jeff and Rob, were superb - can't speak highly enough of them. They kept all the lads going when it got a bit cold and were more than williing to join in with the banter. I would recommend this company to anyone and will definitely be looking to use them again in the future.

We had a great day with Jeff and John gorge walking. We were 3 mums and 9 children ranging in age from 7 to 13. They were safe, great fun and spot on, brillant laugh. Definitely recommend them to anyone.

After my experience with Mountain and River Activities I found myself 'hooked' on out door activities and am very eager to try more. I had a day of Gorge Walking and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very well organised and professionally run with excellent customer care in potentially dangerous environments. I would recommend this to anyone who has never tried anything like this before as i'm sure you will want more. Very enjoyable day for all.

I would thoroughly recommend Mountain and River Activities to individuals or groups looking for a great experience. Fun, professional, highly informative and huge value for money. I will definitely visit again and try out more of the great activities on offer from Jeff and the gang. An opportunity to see first hand some of the amazing outdoors this country has to offer and learn about it while mixing relaxed experiences with some adrenaline fuelled moments!
