Having grown up in South Wales with a love for music, Monnow Valley studio has always had an air of legacy and legendary status. As a working environment Monnow Valley offers something quite unique: Where many other commercial studios are situated in industrial units or converted city buildings, Monnow is a hidden treasure in the Welsh countryside. Where many other studios offer a clinical, 'functional' environment, Monnow offers a comfortable, homely environment where you can equally focus on the task at hand whilst allowing creativity to flow. Monnow Valley is offers a recording experience that is flexible, they try to accommodate most budgets and actually want music to be made in an industry that is changing rapidly. For a record that sounds and feels as amazing as the experience you had making it, Monnow Valley is the place to do it.

Monnow Valley is easily one of the best studios around, The artists/bands list of who has used their facilities speaks for itself! Superb! Immense scenary and and atmosphere that is 2nd to none. Your made to feel so welcome and this is something detremental whilst being away to record. Exceptional! Recommend it to any band or artist.

We went in with high expectations but couldn't of dreamed of the sounds we got from the session. You get out what you put in but it helps massively when you're working in the surroundings of one of the most famous live rooms around and with the best equipment available. We made a choice to record live as a band and Monnow offers the best live rooms and environment for this. The building and surroundings are inspiring and they can't help to rub off on the vibe of the session. The owners Jo and Phil are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble for thier clients. You've also got the added bonus of drawing on Jo's wealth of experience in the industry that you'd be mad not to pay attention to. The inhouse engineer Liam plus his assistant Eliot could not be more professional and accomodating, we couldn't of asked for a better team. Let me start by saying I have recorded in various places and nothing comes close to Monnow Valley. The atmosphere is so relaxed, which is helped by the beautiful scenery that surrounds it (including a river). I was hundred percent happy with the sound quality and the live room is without a doubt the most impressive I have had the pleasure to work in, in both sound and stature. You won't be disappointed if you are planning to record there, the facilities are amazing and the owner Jo couldn't be more helpful in terms of making you feel at home.

Our Monnow Valley experience was unparallelled. It may be my country bumpkin background but I cant think of a better setting to record in. Jo and Phil were very easy going and I just wish we could have stayed longer. I may have to just mess up my drum takes when we next go. Luke, Ocasan.

This studio is great. It's its own world. The living quarters are ace, and the studio itself is incredible. Probably the most inspiring environment you could have for recording. When I'm there, I don't want to leave. Also, Monmouth has some cracking pubs, the Nag's Head in particular!

Home from home, you can't get that drum sound anywhere else.

My band tracked album demos and then the album proper over the course of a month here in Summer '09 and to this day it's still one of my favourite places in the world. Fantastic studio with great gear, an awesome live room, set in the most beautiful surroundings and run by the loveliest people you could imagine. It's the perfect creative haven.

I've been to Monnow Valley Studios many times, I just keep going back. I've been there with the Last Republic and i'm currently working on my solo album there. The studio has loads of great outboard equipment and mics. This makes it possible to take advantage of the massive live room for big drum or echo sounds or instead shutting the massive doors taken from lord of the rings (i swear) to completely deaden the room. The studio has a pool room, a gym, a big dining area, a homely lounge and kitchen and beautiful Welsh countryside along the river Monnow for tantalising views for further inspiration. The staff are great fun and make sure you are always looked after from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave. I promise you won;t be disappointed. Monnow Valley is the place if you wanna make your own music at high level and feel at home and in a holiday in the country at the same time. Everything is pro starting from the studio and including one of the best food in Europe!

My experience of using Monnow Valley Studio was easily the best I have found. We had 24hr access to top range, money can't buy equipment and studio space, where we were able to work the exact hours we choose. The residential quarters were luxurious, the grounds idillic and tranquil and the whole place brimmed with musical history and creative enthusiasm. We recorded 80% of our album there and took advantage of the amazing live room, and the world class drum room, which produced a drum sound comparable to no digital recreation around. This place is the real deal, if you are making a record which you want to be the best, then choose the best. Monnow Valley Studio offers anything you would need to produce an A class record at extremely competitive rates.

An absolutely incredible studio drenched in musical history and frequented by some of music's elite. In an idilic setting at the bottom of a valley in Wales it's the perfect location to hide yourself away in picturesque beauty and create something brilliant. The people who run the place make you feel truly welcome and allow you to get in and get on with making your music with no fuss or distractions. If you choose to be catered for you're in luck. With the option of the best modern or vintage equipment at hand you'll have no problem getting the sound you've dreamed of.

Having visited this studio many times, It combines top class residential accomodation with a massive liveroom and recording facilities in the scenic area of Monnmouth. I would reccomend it to any band, and after trying the best I wouldnt go anywhere else.

We Recorded our c. D. Sidewinder last june 2012 at the Monnow Valley studio`s. What a week, Fantastic people (Phil and Jo) and a great sound engineer, (Liam) when your at the Monnow Valley studio`s you realise what this studio has and still is doing for the british music industry. The hard work and sweat thats been put into getting this studio in top condition is a massive task. I wish Jo, Phil, Liam and James all the luck and succsess in the world to keep. These piece of history and future undisturbed. Once something is gone thats it. There`s no turning back the clock.
