Minami Kaigan Karate Uk provides Karate lessons for the whole family. All students welcome from 6 years young to any age. We have clubs in various locations throughout Dorset. Contact us to find a club near you.

Our Karate club was founded in 1991 by Sensei Chris Lewis. The first club was opened in Blandford and although we still have a club at the Blandford Gymnastics club, we also have a further 2 clubs in the Poole area. Originally we were known as North Dorset Karate but on 1st March 2018 we changed the name to Minami Kaigan Karate UK. The translation of this means 'South Coast Karate UK'. The change was neccessary because we had expanded to areas outside of North Dorset.
All of the clubs are continually growing, but we are very happy to welcome new students at all of the clubs subject to spaces still being available.

Our clubs are very friendly and we are conscious that it can be very daunting for new students joining the club. This is why all of our current students and instructors are more than happy to make every new recruit extremely welcome. It literally takes a few minutes for all new students to feel as though they belong in our clubs.
