I was looking for a trusted and reliable garage to take my ford focus to for a replacement wet belt This place was recommended to me by a friend and I thought what better place to take a Ford to. Although they did the wet belt, it took longer than they first said, and to my utter shock parts which were on my car when I took it in were not on it when it was returned, but instead someone's older knackered gunked up parts. I had a totally different expansion tank and cap, wheel nut covers had been broken and were missing. I had a right job convincing them that it wasn't the one take off my car as they just tried fobbing me off as a thick female that didn't know a thing about cars or that knew anything about anything under my bonnet. As a result of all the messing about I had to get a brand new tank fitted the same as the one I had and having to go back twice one of my dogs got injured where as if it had just been sorted straight away it wouldn't have happened but I won't go into that. They also broke a pipe and charged me for it but I now think it was off the other car they must have done the same timebecayse my coolant tank and pipe obviously hot put on someone else's car Now every time I go to check something on my car it's not mine My wiper washer reservoir bottle is not mine I only noticed today. I thought it was so odd the other day when all this sludge came our I stead of nice clear screenwash. Today was the first chance I had to check why and guess what? Not mine. Mine was in brand new condition and perfect. This one like the coolant tank idms full of gunk with a really old broken cap. Im so shocked and am now wondering where all my car parts went and who's old broken dirty ones have I got on my car. Because they had put on an old gunked up coolant tank and cap my car was over heating and making strange noised so they had to flush the cooling system. I really an so upset after spending over £1200 and my car has always been regularly serviced, so every year a full service from a dealer garage.Exoensive yes but I've never had any parts go missing g and someone's old knackered bits fitted instead I'm now wondering what else is not mine. I left my car which was so well looked after I their care and obviously to do a wet belt half the engine has to be dismantled.God knows who's engine parts I have because seriously how can you mix car parts that you take off one car up with another's. This should never happen and although the name sounds good, dont be fooled as I think there are back street garages that could do a more professional job and put your own parts back on your car. I went there expecting a good service and a professional job done by Ford specialists. Thiz is most definitely NOT what I got They didn't even care enough to fit tge same car parts that they had taken off and to be honest it's taken tge shine off my car and I don't really trust it now as I don't know what or who's car parts have been put on mine or where mine are. The whole experience us a joke and it sickens me to think that I trusted these people with my car that I looked after so well. Needkwss to say I would not recommend them to anyone.Gi to someone you know you can trust with your car These have proved they can't be trusted to do any work on your car correctly or guarantee your parts are refitted. Shame on you for not doing what any other garage can which is just doing a job and fitted that cars parts back as they were when it came in. .Moreexpand_more
Second review on work to my motorhome (28 April ‘24). I can tell you these guys honour the way they guarantee their work. Later in the year my camper would occasionally have a little misfire. But this was always very unpredictable, intermittent, and no fault codes came up. I went back to MasterTech. They checked the work they had done and nothing was obviously amiss…UUUGH! The camper went to and fro and time and again; and they took it for runs time and again. AND they insisted they'd honour their warranty and they were going to find it and fix it. Finally one cold morning they got the same bad start I had complained about. The EGR was swapped out – that was still an O/E part! Problem solved! Done a few K miles since and not one engine hiccup at all!Outstanding persistence and customer service. Thanks again.Moreexpand_more
Our Motorhome has a Transit base. Late on a Saturday on our way back from the Channel Tunnel the injectors popped on the M1. We were low-loaded home. A repair was essential given our ‘Tin-Tent’ has been precious to us since new in 2009, and its worth otherwise still considerable. For good reason not related to this breakdown we had recently fully lost confidence in the local garage we had been using. Now we were stuck to know where to go. We found MasterTech on line and researched a bit before we went to Hull to meet and speak with Phil. We placed our trust in him and MasterTech. We gave him license to do everything needed and at his own pace to get our camper back to best running order. And we’re happy we did!I already thought I’d tanked up on some dirty fuel abroad, and sure enough most of the fuel and power train was found to be a mess. The work took a while. No worries given this was over Christmas ‘23 and New Year period, and how much needed attention. The result was a complete new Ford reconditioned engine c/w warranty; new turbo and injectors, and fuel supply system renew or overhaul etc. And because it was opportune to do so, new clutch and flywheel fitted. Phil remarked it was their first 3 page invoice! Even so parts were all helpfully chosen and priced, discussed when necessary, and the labour charge very reasonable. It was a big bill which we expected, but in all I am particularly pleased. I write this a couple of months later as we’ve now driven the necessary run-in miles. All is sweet. The motor is very very quiet on the overrun and trips along very easily and merrily at 50 – 60mph. It pulled like the flying Scotsman when I tested it and put the hammer down a day or so ago. It’s a little different to drive now, quieter but more taunt and the body has a slightly different set of vibes. It returns a comfy 32+mpg. We’re well retired and getting on a bit, but hope to get a few more years touring UK and Europe, and I think we will. All thanks to the sterling work done at MasterTech. Simply THANK YOU. .Moreexpand_more
I have been using MasterTech for 6 years now for servicing and MOT. I have had a couple of extra jobs done this year, cambelt and water pump in March plus yesterday a complete overhaul of the DPF. I find them extremely helpful and willing to spend time explaining things and answering questions. Communications in keeping customer updated is very good. Fast efficient service and extremely good value for money.
Took my Ford Ranger in for an oil and filter, dropped the keys and the book off, then received a phone about an hour later to say it was ready. Went in to collect, and was given my book back, I paid, then they give me my keys, as all was happening I was looking through my service book out of curiosity and noticed they'd not stamped the book so I asked if they could stamp was was told "no, we cant stamp it unless its a full service". That's fine but why wasn't I told this when I handed my book over with the keys…And then again when they give me the book back? I was now curious to see the work they had carried out on my vehicle, and to what standard. I opened the bonnet to find lots of oil splashed about the engine bay, not just a few drops or splatters, oil was running down the fan and was all over the front cross member. It looked like it had been spilt and no attempt to clean up made. I decided to have a quick look under the vehicle, again to find oil dripping from the bottom the engine in 2 places, 1 of them being around the sump plug. I was very surprised when everybody walked out the front door as I was the last customer of the day and not one of them asked if everything was OK with the vehicle and if I was happy…I wont be going back, I would rather just pay the extra money and go to the main dealer.
Looked after my ford transit van for 9 years after dealers warranty expired ! Always completely satisfied with the appointments made and the work carried out ! Prices and communication top class ! Thats why i, m still driving around with a 12 year old van with no concerns ! Thank you guys.
I am an engineer myself, but discussed the fault with MasterTech. They have investigated/diagnosed the fault with my daughters 2012 Ka gear change. Stripped the gearbox and sorted it in short order. I am really pleased with their professionalism and skill. Fully recommeneded.
Major service and some minor repairs. I was booked in quickly. Customer service was excellent. Work was done quickly. I arrived early to collect my car and whilst in their waiting room noted the staff being very attentive to other customers. Garage seems to be large and well equipped. Pricing was reasonable. Would recommend.
Had my 2012 1. 6 TDCI Focus serviced twice and an MOT from Master tech up to now and im very pleased indeed with the quality of service given. I also had a new dash cam professionally hard wired by them last year, all wires hidden with a fully protected hard-wire kit used. I have recommended them to a work mate who also has a 2013 Focus and he is very pleased with the level of service as well.
My 06 Ford Focus 2. 0 litre ghia engine warning light illuminated with no loss of power, misfire or any other signs. I called master tech who booked my car in straight away at a convenient time for me. They carried out a diagnostic test and retrieved the fault code and did various function tests. They gave me a complete report and reset my engine light in very quick time. Both their customer service and expert knowledge of Ford engineering was impressive and I would definitely recommend Master tech to anyone. Thank you.
Master Tech diagnosed my problem as a faulty battery which affected my Speedo. Everyone else including Fords tried to sell me a new dashboard at around £500. All I did was replace the battery at a fraction of the cost and problem solved! Great customer service, great knowledge and I for one very happily recommend Master Tech to everyone!
I took my Ford TDCi to Master Tech to have an engine malfunction light diagnosed. They identified the problem and rectified it the same day. It was a pleasure to be able to talk to the actual technicians rather than a service reception person. I have no hesitation in recommending this firm and will be using them again.
