Finding the right stone is only half the job - cutting it correctly and fitting it properly is where most projects succeed or fail. Marla Stone London handles all three. We are a London stone company with more than two decades behind us, working with marble, travertine, limestone, onyx, quartzite and granite for homes, hotels and commercial interiors.

Everything runs through our own workshop: slabs are selected and matched by eye, cut to size in-house, then installed by our own fitting teams rather than subcontractors. That single chain of responsibility is the reason architects and interior designers bring us into their projects early, often at drawing stage.

Typical commissions range from a single marble bathroom or a set of worktops through to staircases, flooring, fireplaces and full wall cladding. Past clients include five-star hotels and listed London residences.

Our work falls into three strands. Supply: sourcing slabs directly, including rarer materials that never reach standard stone yards, with clients invited to approve their exact slabs before cutting. Fabrication: templating, cutting, edge profiling and finishing carried out at our workshop, so tolerances are checked before anything travels to site. Installation: our fitters handle everything from wet rooms and underfloor heating build-ups to heavy wall-hung stone and shaped staircase treads, in occupied homes as well as construction sites.

London properties rarely make stonework easy. Narrow Georgian staircases, no lift access, listed interiors where nothing may be altered, and finished rooms where a single scratch matters - this is the environment we plan for. Surveys happen before fabrication, protection is agreed before installation, and one team stays accountable from first measurement to final seal. Clients tend to come to us through architects and designers who have seen the difference that makes.

Each stone behaves differently. Marble wants careful sealing and the right cutting sequence to keep veins continuous across a room. Travertine needs its fill and finish chosen for the setting. Onyx demands planning for light. We advise on all of it before a purchase is made, and our atelier holds a wide library of materials that can be viewed by appointment.

Most projects start with a conversation and a set of drawings, or sometimes just a photograph of a room and an idea. From there we advise on suitable stones and realistic budgets, prepare a detailed quotation, and agree a programme that fits around other trades. Lead times are honest, pricing is itemised, and there is no obligation attached to an initial consultation.
