Mainstream Theatre Arts provides performing arts education throughout the north west of England. MTA operates a leading foundation Academy for the performing arts for children and young people in Denton Tameside, and provides performing arts specialist teachers to schools for music, dance, drama. The company was established in 1981 and has many years experience in the arts education sector.

The company provides PPA cover, regular curricular lessons, after-school clubs and other special projects in dance, drama, music and musical theatre to enhance any school's curriculum. With over 30 years' experience in performing arts education, MTA's specially devised curriculum allows schools to give their pupils an enjoyable experience with real educational benefits.

The company also provides a performing arts academy delivering high quality lessons in drama and acting, many styles of dance, musical theatre, singing and vocal coaching. Large scale productions are regularly staged for all levels of students. Available at Denton Community College, Denton, Manchester. The classes are fully educational, practical and great fun. Optional qualifications through graded exams are available through Trinity College London, ABRSM and NATD. Developing and nurturing performing skills, increasing confidence and social skills, the programmes can provide a foundation for further education, a career in the arts or simply for an enjoyable pastime.
