AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! My husband applied for a telehandler course. At the time of the booking even if we asked what was going to happen in case of failure no one mention that they would charge almost HALF of the price of the entire course just to re-attend the exam. (Cost of the course roughly 1330£). Nothing wrong with having to pay again, but we would've loved to have this information before applying, especially because they charge you EVERY TIME you attend the test, so it's an endless payment in case of multiple failure. He attended the course with 2 people. 2 out of 3 failed the theory exam (let's say two just because we don't know if the third person passed it or not), my husband answered correctly 108 questions out of 110, but since he didn't complete the diagram correctly whatever he answered correctly had no value. Since he failed the theory he gets told that he has no access to the practical exam therefore he has to pay again for it. So the practical hasn't been postponed, it's just been considered as failed. The training provider took forever to give us answers and apparently initially they didn't even want to provide extra training included in the roughly 630£ they asked us to pay to re attend the exams. They eventually were "so kind" to offer a quick revision of the questions before attending the exam again after multiple emails, but at this stage we just went somewhere else, attended and passed straight away. I just think with them you're meant to fail and if you have a look at the review we are not the only ones who noticed it. .Moreexpand_more
I have just completed my AP course. Excellent course tuition partnered with great instructors. Very thorough in all aspects of my training with expert on hand help to guide me through it. Special thanks to Bob Ewans for your guidance and patience. Top marks to a top team at a top training centre.
I took the A17c practical test with mi construction haven already failed the same test twice at some other organisation. Whilst I did not pass it immediately on my fist attempt with them, I knew well where my struggles lies which had stem from not getting the proper tutoring from the first organisation I had enrolled with. To be fair, it wasn't like the other organisation were bad, on the contrary, the were reasonably well organised -, it's just that the instructor there simply tells you what to do rather than educate you so that you can be competent with the telehandler on your own. Now that is what I got at mi construction, not only did I learn properly how to how to carry out every manoeuvre, I learnt the reason why it was done that way and more importantly I learnt what to look for at every stage of the exercise. That is the key for me. I learnt for example that to retract the fork cleanly after landing a load, you must make sure you properly level the fork before going into the pallet to pick the load up in the first place. Because once the fork is in the pallet it's a bit tricky to tell if the fork is level or not. I will recommend mi construction anytime because they give you the pointers, sort of the things to look out for and that is how I pass my test!
You get a very Few training hours comparing to other training company , they don't train you properly as their trainers are few , old and incometent and beside they train 4 to 5 people at a time , you won't be competent enough at your job even if you pass their test by chance ( they always make sure you fell the test and repay them and retest you again ).
I just finished a A17 telehandler training course. Oustanding. Jack&Jason, excellent instructors. Top information and instruction. I recammand this training 1000% to anyone. The training camp and telehandlers are perfect! Very friendly BUT serious place. The expresso brake was very good. .
Awful trainiers and testers , I paid over £1100 for A17 tele handler course but unlike others course provider which trains you 8 hrs for 5 days before the test mi gives you only 4 to 5 hours of training a day only for 4 days then they put you to a test exam and made sure you fail the test so that you pay extra money for a retest.
Hello. My name is Paul and I recently completed a Appointed Person course and would like to say a big thank you. Ian and Kay make you feel right at home and all the staff at M. I Training. Give you all the incentive to help you pass. The AP Instructors was Stan Clarke and Dave Bright who are both very experienced in there expertise. They showed me how to choose the right mobile crane selection how to do the calculations which for me I was very worried about as mathematics is not my strong side. The course I must admit is very tough everyone at M. I Training helped me all the way. I would defiantly come back for my NVQ and would recommend a friend or relative for any of the courses. Thank you. Paul.
