We asked Lucy to 'freshen up' our garden design which had become very overgrown with too many trees and large shrubs. She was very knowledgeable about what we currently had as well as what would be a suitable replacement. She worked very hard herself and gave precise instructions to the tree surgeons. The plans produced and the aftercare instructions are very helpful.
It was brilliant to find someone who is knoweledgable, friendly and helpful to sort out the problem with my garden. Lucy's approach was totally professional from the initial design, consultation, obtaining plants, planting and aftercare. I had requested the appearance of the garden to look larger, low maintenance and more colour/greenery. The transformation at the end was amazing. Larger appearance to garden and all year round colour. A beautiful place to enjoy and relax in. The best value for money I have spent. I have no hesitation in recommending lucy to transform your garden.
Creation and maintenance of balcony "gardens": i. E. A variety of containers and window-boxes on 2 balconies at the top of an old house. Lucy came to our rescue last July, quickly and competently transforming our bleak view of empty pots and withered plants into 2 lovely balcony gardens - a profusion of flowers, of colours and scents - that remained a pleasure to look at and sit amongst really until the advent of the winter snow and ice. Taking our particular wishes into account, she gave us expert advice on suitable plants, perennials and annuals, and both procured and planted these - somehow managing to bring all the soil, compost and tools 3 floors up. She also expertly prepared the pots to ensure good drainage and minimum watering. Since that initial setting up, Lucy has been very kind in keeping an eye on the balconies in the times we are away and doing all that was necessary to maintain them. Spring flowers are in bloom at the moment and we look forward to her ideas and invaluable help for a new summer cornucopia a little later on. We have absolute confidence in Lucy's knowledge and ability and are just grateful that someone who has recently finished a "stunning design for the new sensory garden" at Warwickshire Wildlife's Brandon Marsh is willing to bring the same expertise and enthusiasm to such a very different undertaking.
Lucy Hartley has a passion for planting that makes even the most reluctant excited about their garden. Her calm reassuring manner and friendly charm makes the whole process so easy and enjoyable. I'll never forget seeing her crouched down in the pouring rain finishing off a border and thinking that most people would not even have turned up! I look forward to my spring border and summer border bursting into life! Rebecca Lawrence.
Design, management and implemention of whole project. Lucy has been very cooperative, enthusiastic and above all has always been willing to listen to our requirements ensuring the final project has been a total success. We are very happy with the end result and have no reservations in recommending Lucy to other clients.
