Jacket had a fault in the form of a hole between the inside pocket zip and inner lining. On the phone they admitted their manufacturing was at fault but repeatedly argued the hole wasn't a hole, although they fixed this in the end. Cheap inner lining with the stuffing/threads protuding from it. They argued it was caused from wearing once which is abysmal durability. They only want to do phone calls and never respond by email despite my requests. They offered to re-imburse my costs (£31) for returning the jacket for repair but have not done so after 2+ weeks despite providing a receipt and offering a my redacted bank statement showing both return costs. They returned the jacket in a damaged unsecured box that had clearly been prised open. The returned jacket had 'Exchanged' noted on the receipt but had the same protuding threads so they clearly have no quality control or pride. They also left a piece of paper in the previously defective pocket noted 'stich' so they're no doubt lying about the jacket being exchanged. I twice requested a refund by email based on the fault with their product within 30 days of purchase. Initially they aggresively refused over the phone. After my second request they didn't reply back after a week and sent it back to me pointing to their 14 day 'change of mind' policy which has nothing to do with faulty returns. I wish I checked their reputation before ordering and bought with a credit card for easier dispute on consumer rights. Not pursuing further through small claims court because the styling and fit is good and I don't want to dedicate even more time and effort to them.Moreexpand_more
I recently found 2 leather jackets on The Leather Company's website. As I was unsure of which size would be the best fit for me - the jackets are categorised as Extra Slim Fit, Slim Fit, Regular Fit - I decided to call them and ask. I spoke to Shy who was absolutely wonderful. He was incredibly helpful and gave so much information about the jackets (styles, cuts, types of leather etc) Not only that, he actually went and found the jackets I was enquiring about in the size he thought would best fit me having given him my measurements, and he measured the jackets and advised me which size he thought would fit well. (I've struggled to find a leather jacket that fits well as I am a size 8-10 with a larger bust) We were on the phone for at least 20 minutes after closing time, which is unheard of with so many other companies as the phone lines are off at one minute past closing time. So I ordered the 2 jackets and they arrived 3 days later. Very well packaged, and they both fit beautifully! Almost like they were made for me! Being so happy with my leather jackets from The Leather Company I called Shy to thank him personally. The time and patience he took to help me was so appreciated and really went a long way. Bought my Dad a pair of sheepskin slippers from the Leather Company for Christmas (2020). Paid £64. 99. He didn't do anything in them other than wear them round the house and by end of February the stitching was coming undone on both slippers and they are now pretty much useless. For nearly £65 I would expect them to last longer than 2 months! Both myself and my mum attempted to call customer service multiple times over the past month and a half. Eventually got through and the guy wasn't helpful and basically said there wasn't anything they would do and they wouldn't replace the slippers. I know that people are bound by Terms and Conditions and Store Policies but for the cost they are asking, you would expect far better quality and product longevity. Deeply disappointed as have effectively wasted £65. So I guess if you are any harder on your shoes than a 65 year old man, I'd avoid this company.
What a bright sharp company this is, they produce and deliver absolute top quality products. Has from the service I have received it has been extremely attentive and courteous. As we all know when we shop online we reach for the moon only to receive a 40 watt light bulb well this company delivers the whole of the moon. Been an absolute pleasure dealing with them and definitely highly recommend and will for sure do business with them again in the future. Pure Quality!
Horrendous company to deal with AVOID at all cost. To start with the jacket I was sent was nowhere near the size stated on their website, what was described as extra slim fit was far from it, im a 41" chest, the large I ordered was for 38 to 40. Id have to be at least a 46" chest for it to have even come close to being extra slim fit. I called the company to arrange an exchange for a smaller size which I had to pay for the return postage despite the information on their site being incorrect. The replacement finally came almost 2 weeks later, at which point I found it was damaged so I called to inform them. They told me there was no damage it was just a natural variation in the leather as its a natural product. (complete crap). On the front of the jacket it had an area approx 3cm long where it had been damaged and they had tried to repair it very badly, the leather was much darker and scuffed almost peeling. Eventually after many emails and calls it was escalated to their head office where I was told it was damaged. I was then told I could return it but again at my cost, I then asked for a refund and was told no refund would be given as it was now past their 14 day refund policy. As I previously stated it took THEM almost 2 WEEKS to get the jacket to me…. Under the Consumer Rights Act, you have a right to return something and get your money back if it's faulty. You're entitled to an automatic refund if you return it within 30 days. They then stopped replying to my emails and calls so I turned to the citizens advice bureau who informed me Leather company were very much in the wrong and I was entitled to a FULL refund. These people shouldn't be running a business as the jacket I received was very substandard low quality leather with damage which they tried to pass of as new and they try to make the consumer rights rules up as they go. Id suggest searching for more reviews for Leather company Birmingham, trading as Fonz leather styles limited. Paypal have now issued me with a full refund. I wish Id seen these reviews first before wasting my money on postage and 2 months of my time with these jokers!Moreexpand_more
