We specialise in advising and arranging mortgages for all types of buyers, movers and stayers, whatever their circumstances and, because you have time pressures, we are available to you throughout the day and into the evenings and weekends.
We assist first-time and subsequent buyers, re-mortgagors, buy-to-let and holiday let landlords, buyers of overseas properties and commercial properties.
Whatever your needs, in order for us to give the most appropriate advice, we have to understand you. LEA Financial Services (LEA FS) will ask you to attend an interview where we can establish your situation and circumstances and what you wish to achieve. We will also ask you for proof of identity, address, income, etc.
Once we have established these facts, we will produce for you a fully-illustrated quotation for the service/product you have requested along with our explanation for why we make that recommendation.
LEA FS offers advice and arrangement services for residential, buy-to-let, commercial and foreign property mortgages, secured and unsecured loans, development and asset finance and a wide range of insurance protection services for personal and business clients. We also can offer assistance in locating specialist services such as solicitors, surveyors, energy cost savings, company incorporations, etc.
LEA FS is a fully independent financial advisory firm that is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). We advise on and arrange mortgages, remortgages and insurance protection products for private individuals including first-time and subsequent buyers. We can assist with Right to Buy, New-Build Home-Buy, Shared Ownership and Shared-Equity mortgages.
In addition, we offer advice and arrangement to landlords of buy to let properties, portfolios, commercial and foreign property owners. Please note that the FCA does not regulate the majority of these types of transactions.
Whilst the business is based in Plymouth, the vast majority of our clients are spread around the UK. Most of these have joined us as a result of recommendations from satisfied customers.
Our client base is broad but includes landlords of buy to let and holiday let portfolios, University Deans, senior Local Authority officers, Company Directors, etc.
LEA FS is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and our Firm Reference number is 482614 and with the Information Commissioner's Office with the Data Protection Register number of Z1354876. We are a member of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI), the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB), the Chartered Institute of Insurance (Society of Mortgage Professionals) - CII(SMP), the Institute of Financial Services (IFS), The Chambers of Commerce (CoC) and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). We are also members of the Buy With Confidence scheme, which is run by the local authorities on behalf of Trading Standards.
LEA FS is family-owned and staffed. The 3 Directors have, between them, over 60 years of management and business experience in both public and private sectors inside the UK and elsewhere. The Directors are also engaged in a number of other ventures and are fully-qualified to meet the demands of a Financial Services Company.
The Company is owned and run by Les, Eileen and Andrew Whitfield. Les and Eileen were instrumental in setting up our first Financial Services business back in 1997 and have been fully involved in the industry ever since. When LEA FS was incorporated in 2008, Andrew joined the board as a Director and as the Company Secretary. Andrew is also Director of a number of other companies that operate in the IT field.

Would highly recommend. LEA supported us in a long and difficult mortgage application running over 18 months. Despite having the first sale fall through, forcing us to take a break from buying and selling and re-applying for a new mortgage, LEA only charged us once for their service. The mortgage finding service was fantastic as one of us had a Debt Management plan going. Les was able to advise us on how to get rid of this and be able to make a larger loan application subsequently and thus buy a much better home.
