Based in Ipswich, Kotokukan Dojo offers traditional but practical Jujutsu lessons to both adult men and women throughout Ipswich. Our club was founded in by Police inspector Mick Miles (sadly deceased) in 1990. The present head master lloyd Allum Hanshi has many years of experience in the martial arts and the self defence sector. We also have instruction direct from the Jujutsu schools of present day Japan through our head teacher Hanshi - Kaiden Shihan Lloyd Allum 10th Dan Aiki Jujutsu. 9 Dan Nihin Jujutsu, Kaiden Shihan Hakkoryu Jujutsu, 5 Dan Shihan Kanda ha Kamishin ryu, Lloyd is a direct student of Nidai Soke Okuyama headmaster of all Hakkoryu arts.

The organisation provides local people with traditional martial arts training which is also a very good self defence system. The expert instructors ensure students learn in a safe environment at their own pace.

The art of jujutsu and aikijujutsu are suitable for men and women of all ages (minimum age 18).

Kotokukan Dojo is the only officially licensed Hakkoryu jujutsu dojo in the UK being registered at the headquarters in Omiya, Japan, Dojo head Lloyd allum is a personal student of Soke Okuyama and is a registered Kaiden level teacher authorised by Soke Okuyama to teach Hakkoryu Jujutsu and to practice Hakkoryu Shiatsu.

Lloyd Allum sensei is also recognised as a 9th dan Hanshi with the Nippon seibukan academy, Kyoto Japan.

5 Dan Shihan Kanda Ha Kamishin Ryu and the U. K representative.

Classes in jujutsu every Thursday evening 8pm until 9.30pm at Goals Soccer Centre Suffolk College, Ipswich.

Classes at Mary Magdalen Church Hall Highfield approach in Ipswich one Saturday every month 09.30 am until 12.30 pm.

We also have a weekly class at Suffolk college studio above goals soccer.
Thursday evenings 8 pm until 9.30pm.
All lessons are pre booked for insurance and safety purposes therefore no spectators or walk ins without prior notice.

There are some fantastic martial arts clubs available in our area but please before selecting one verify the instructors credentials as many unscrupulous clubs bend the truth in order to make it look as if they are teaching arts that they have no licence to teach.
My credentials together with my Hakkoryu jujutsu licence and shihan teaching licence details can be found at Hakkoryu website on the organisation /teachers page. If anyones name is not on the list they are not authorised full stop. Please don’t be fooled by the” I used to “or “my teacher was”routine.
My official scrolls and certificates are available to view by serious interested parties also.
