This is the 2nd time we’ve used Kevin Chivers services. A huge thank you to Kevin, Josh and Greg and team for a fabulous remodel of our downstairs to include changing the location of our kitchen, knocking through a wall and closing up a doorway, new, cloakroom, new boiler, new flooring and new electrics. Kevin was great at communicating from the start of the quote process, kept to time scale and found effective solutions to small but unexpected issues. The team worked hard throughout and the finished product is just as we hoped for. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and the team.

We have recently had a renovation to our bungalow consisting of replacement bathroom and redesign into en-suite, new main bathroom installation taking a section of our existing kitchen, and also complete kitchen redesign. Like all excellent builders, Kevin was recommended to us through some friends who have used Kevin on more than one occasion. First and foremost, Kevin and his workforce are consummate professionals. Their knowledge and experience in building methods and techniques consist of years of accumulated experience, the end result an example of exceptional craftsmanship. This experience combined with the personable nature of each individual member in the team, ultimately results in a peace of mind for the work being done. We have been delighted with the final result, our expectations exceeded and although here in an official work capacity, we’ve genuinely missed them all being here following completion of the work. A lovely bunch, nice family, but above all possessing the highest standards you will find on the market.

We have just had a small extension on our house, and at the same time had the whole of the downstairs renovated, including the garden being landscaped. We have nothing but praise for Kevin and his staff, their work is carried out to a very high standard, Josh, Greg and Conner were always very polite and their workmanship is top quality. We had a daily update from Kevin as to what would be happening the following day which was brilliant and he was always there to discuss any slight changes that we wanted to make. As this was the first time we had embarked on a project like this, Kevin was there with advice on everything from planning to all the final touches. We would highly recommend this company Thank you Kevin.

We have recently had our garden decking replaced by Kevin Chivers Ltd the work was carried out in a very professional manner by Mr Chivers son Creg, the project was not straight forward but the transformation was amazing, on completion all arisings were removed and the site was left clean and tidy, it was a pleasure to have Creg working on our property. This firm comes highly recommended by me.

I have had extensive work done on my house by Kevin Chivers Ltd. A 2 story extension to the side and rear of the property, garage conversion, and re-modelling of 2 bedrooms and bathroom to create a 4 bedroom property with a new kitchen and 2 en-suites. It has taken the 4 months Kevin predicted. The workmanship and craftsmanship of all of Kevins immediatr employees as well as associated contractors is second to none. I cannot recommend the whole crew highly enough. Always polite, kind, funny, helpful and tidy - all of them. It has been a pleasure to have them around and the results are incredible, the house is amazing.

Kevin and sons have recently completed a one story extension with a reconfiguration of the downstairs space, including a raised patio to extend the kitchen space. The finished job is smart, modern and done to the highest standard. The team were amazing to work with throughout the project. They discussed every aspect of the build and reassured us at all times about the best way forward. We always felt in really safe hands. From quote to completion, we were kept informed of times and costs and communication was transparent at all times. Onsite, the team were a pleasure to have around and the neighbours even said they were going to miss them when they went! They were completely professional and left the site immaculate at all times. As well as the build, Kevin was the perfect project manager and brought in all the additional trades, with whom, he clearly has a solid working relationship and who were also a pleasure to work with. This meant we didn't have to worry about any aspect of the build, leaving us free to focus on design. Kevin and his sons just completed a small extension to the front of our house. The new brickwork blends perfectly into the original brickwork making the extension look like it has always been there. We were kept well informed of progress all the way through the build and Kevin has coordinated all of the additional subcontractors as required. We are very pleased with the results - a pleasure doing business with them.

Kevin’s sons Greg and Josh created a door way and laid a solid wood floor including painting and glossing of door and skirting. I am delighted with the work, the attention to detail and care that was taken throughout the work from quote to completion was second to none. I would recommend them and will use them again. Kevin, Josh and Greg recently completed a single storey extension for us. We couldn’t be happier with the results and the entire process. Kevin’s communication was excellent from start to finish. The build was delayed due to Covid but they left the site tidy and safe for us and the children, until they were able to return, and Kevin maintained the high level of communication during the ‘lockdown’. He organised all the other trades, who were also of a high standard, and the process was smooth throughout. He always ensured we understood fully how different parts of the build would look and discussed various options if this was relevant and possible. Kevin, Josh and Greg are professional, tidy, considerate and easy to work with. Their work is excellent quality, keeping to time and cost. We would highly recommend them without hesitation.

Kevin Chivers carries out construction of a two storey extension to our house and complete renovation and installation of our kitchen. Throughout the process communication and planning was excellent with Kevin coordinating sub contractors effectively to deliver the project perfectly on time and budget. The quality of work was excellent with extremely tidy and accurate work throughout the project. We would not hesitate to recommend for future projects.

Kevin came highly recommended by friends and neighbours, but even so, he and his sons, and the tradespeople he used, exceeded our expectations. We had our house extensively extended and remodelled. Kevin quoted from plan and stuck to this quote, with variations only where there were changes to the project, and these were all fully discussed and mutually agreed. Where the changes came from our side, these were dealt with with absolute good grace, and no hint of a sharp intake of breath. On the contrary, Kevin would throw in alternatives to make sure we looked at all the possibilities. Kevin suggested a review of the structural engineer's design, due to its impracticality. This resulted in much more proportionate solutions, with associated cost reductions, which Kevin passed on to us. The extent of the work meant that we couldn't live in the house for the duration, so the fact that the work was completed to the timescale we were told at the outset was hugely important and appreciated. Kevin managed the whole project, bringing in other trades as and when required. He, Josh and Greg did the bulk of the work themselves. They dedicated themselves to the job, and it was amazing to see huge progress each day when I stopped by on the way from work. Yet, the site was always left remarkably tidy. The quality of the work is outstanding, and we are still wandering around our new space with excited smiles, two months after moving back in. All of the neighbours we've spoken to have been very impressed by how hard-working Kevin and his sons were, and by the results of that work. And, what's more, you couldn't wish for nicer people to deal with. If we wanted any further work done, I don't think we'd bother unless we could get Kevin to take it on.Moreexpand_more

Kevin and his sons, Josh and Greg did a fantastic job for us and I couldn’t rate them more highly. They were extremely professional, tidy, hard working and nice to have around. I can honestly say they’re the best builders we’ve ever encountered. The work that they have carried out was of very high quality and our neighbours have all commented about what a great job they’ve done and how courteous they were to everyone. They also kept to time and well informed at every stage of the process. I would recommend Kevin to anyone.

Kevin Chivers together with his son Josh operate an excellent building company (Kevin Chivers Ltd), which together with a team of independent services specialist arranged by them have recently completed an extension and improvements to, our property at Old Corner House, Long Newnton. Having spent my working life in the building industry, I am happy to recommend them not only for the quality of their workmanship but also for the punctual and well organised manner in which the project has been executed. Kevin has just completed the renovation of our property in Minety. We have been so pleased with all of the work carried out. Kevin, his son and all of the tradesman involved were excellent. The work was completed on time and within the estimate. Kevin arranged for and dealt with the electrician and plumber and everyone else involved. We didn't need to worry about anything. Honest and hardworking and we would highly recommend.

Extension of kitchen a carport with bedroom and ensuite above. Kevin is very professional keeping in touch with us and letting us know about each stage of the build we didn't need to do anything he arranged plumber and electricians, and kitchen fitter which we're all of high standards. We were told the build would take about 3 months and was complete in time. Kevin and josh worked every day they are very friendly and polite and trustworthy and very hard working they even took care of my dog. At the end of each day they would tidy and clean where they had worked. We would recommend them highly. Thank you for my new build love it.

We have recently had a single storey extension built by Kevin Chivers and I cannot praise him and his son enough for their attention to detail and keeping us informed every step of the way. His work is so tidy and we would definitely recommend him if what you need is a very reliable and quality builder.

I can't recommend Kevin Chivers Ltd highly enough: I needed a wall constructed within my old property (to create a new bedroom), some doors fitted, and some general maintenance work done. It's a busy household with lots of young children charging around, (one with an allergy to dust), but Kevin and his son were happy to work around us and kindly kept dust to a minimum. They were both courteous, polite, trustworthy, hardworking, tidy and a pleasure to have in the house. The work itself was of a high standard and came within budget, and Kevin always kept me aware of progress, stuck to the times he'd promised, and consulted me first regarding 'finishing touches' on work that he thought I might want done a particular way. In summary, I can't fault them and would definitely recommend them to others and use them myself again.

Kevin has built a first floor extension over the porch and dining room. He had scaffolding erected up over the build, roof and down the back of the house. This protected our house against the elements. When the rain came down really hard on a couple of occasions we were really grateful, no one wants wet electrics! He kept us well informed before and during the build. We were fully aware of which tradesmen were coming on what day. Kevin and Josh are both very polite, friendly, trustworthy and considerate. They always left the build clean and tidy at the end of everyday. The extension was completed on time and the work is outstanding. Finally a builder who turns up when they say they will, does the work they committed to and to an exceptionally high standard. Not only that but takes the time to clean up after themselves each day, even hovering! Kevin keeps in touch on a regular basis letting you know how things are going, what to expect next and when. Very professional, would highly recommend.

Kevin (Kevin Chivers Ltd) has just finished building a 3 room single storey annex at our home and this together with associated outside work has taken 3 months to complete. To say that we are happy with his work and the finished product is somewhat of an understatement. The work was carried out on time and within budget and the quality of the completed job is way better than we could have hoped for. The sub-contracted plumber, electrician and carpenter were all top quality workmen who coordinated into the project when requested with a minimum of fuss. Kevin is one of a rare breed these days. He is a skilled builder and bricklayer who is also considerate and lymphatic to the customers’ needs as well as being adaptable to changing circumstances. Very little seems to disturb his composure which makes him a pleasure to work with. Moreover, his estimates and quotations are both realistic and reasonable with any extra work properly priced before commencement.
