John Partridge has carried out a lot of restoration and maintenance work on our 16th century listed cottage. His work has been uniformly excellent, of course - but his advice, his insights and his information have been particularly valuable. I have had reason several times to be grateful for his suggestions I. How to proceed with repairs and other project and I have learned to trust his judgement completely.

We have been privileged to have John conducting work on our Grade 2 Listed property over the last four weeks. Out of a number of contractors on site, John is the only one who has been 100% reliable with regard to his attendance time keeping and quality of work. He has communicated with us and the local authority listed building officer, explaining what issues he has identified and given his expert advice and experience to rectify the problem. John is clearly "Old School" with regard to his working standards. He has a wide knowledge and hands on experience of his skills and is clearly a Master Craftsman. His honesty, helpful nature, good sense of humour and enthusiasm regarding restoring old building is outstanding. His tea drinking ability is worthy of note as a potential entry in the Guinness Book Of Records. Thank you John it's been a pleasure to have you here.

John has been on site for the past 6 months and has undertaken a top to bottom refurbishment and replacement of our timber frame cottage. He has been symapthetic to the original structure but installed new oak where essential. The house has been transformed from a sad, tatty cottage into a stunning home. The quality of his work and attention to detail is quite extraordinary. I have helped John on my time off work and had a real insight into what he does. Absolutley no complaints at all, a great worker (even in some terrible weather) but worth every penny. He supported meetings with our conservation officer and was flexible when it came to understanding our needs. I would contract John again without question and would be veyr happy to provide any references. Thank you John !

John has visited us on two occasions now. Firstly to address our problem with water ingress in the storms of 2013. He diagnosed the problem, which was blocked drainage in some of our external timber work (we have a Grade II listed 16th century half-timber framed house). He also re-limed timber and window surrounds to a very good standard and we have not had this problem since. The second visit addressed water ingress through a chimney. John re-limed the chimney and surrounding wall which has had the desired affect. We are no experts on maintaining houses of this type and John has been very helpful in diagnosing problems and resolving them as they come up. His work is always to a very high standard and his rates are very reasonable.

Timber frame gable end restoration. Sneeze and the whole lot might have gone. Mr Partridge worked his magic and saved our Grade II listed building. In a methodical manner , he did an honest repair salvaging what ever was sound. Mr Partridge definitely has 'the skill'.

John refurbished the timbers of our Tudor cottage over a couple of weeks, and replaced a masonry panel. I can't recommend his workmanship too highly. I expected him to know everything there was to know about the structure of the building, and I wasn't disappointed - but he was also very realistic about what I could afford, and what the most cost-effective way would be to get the job done. And, in and among his labours on the house, he was able to give me a fascinating glimpse into its history. I'll certainly ask him back next time there is anything to be done with the house timbers.

John performed a number of small remedial repairs to oak beams on our house, the work was completed to our satisfaction. Whilst on site John regularly liaised with me about all aspects of the work, he told me his thoughts as to why the problems had arisen and offered cost effective solutions for both the repair and for the prevention of future problems.

John and Grant restored a very leaky gable-end wall on our oak framed 16th century cottage and carried out some other restoration work. The work was carried out to a very high standard and John gave good impartial advice about how to proceed. He also kept us well informed of progress both verbally and with e-mailed updates. I would have no hesitation in using John again or recommending him to others.

Substantial repairs to the frame and panels of a high profile 14th to 17th century building on Henley-in-Arden High Street. The likely scope of the task being unclear at the outset, great care was taken at many key stage to consult and explain on problems and possible solutions. The building is a museum open to the public and run by 70 volunteers and the work was conducted in a civilized and amicable manner. John and Grant earned the very considerable respect of all concerned and the finished job is first class. We would not hesitate to recommend John Partridge for this type of work.

Gable End of a Grade II Listed Timber Framed Cottage letting in rain water very badly. John & Grant replaced/repaired timbers, panels and sole plates where necessary to meet listed building requirements. Work was carried out in a very professional and friendly manner. We were kept informed on a daily basis exactly what work was required and being carried out. Site was cleared and cleaned at the end of each day so minimum disruption. We can highly recommend his craftsmanship.

The finished work looks fantastic, it feels sturdy and has enhanced the overall appearance of our cottage. I would recommend John wholeheartedly and he will always be our first choice for any future work.

John and his team repaired the front wall of our cottage. They did a high quality and accurate job, and were very reliable and trustworthy. John also explained very clearly what he was doing and why - he knows his trade very well. We would use them again.

John Partridge and his colleague worked for over 4 months rebuilding a side of my 17th century house. He is an excellent timber framer, and has skills in most areas of building work. I was able to leave them with the keys to my house for extended periods, and fully trusted them.
