John has been a great help to me both mentally and physically as lockdown was really getting me down I am 55 and was really struggling but with John's help I lost 5lbs in 6 weeks and I am totally back on track.
“I attended a free trial very nervously as I have never done any exercise class or been to a gym before! John was so supportive and all the ladies made me feel welcome. I never imagined I would enjoy it as much as I do. It has really worked for me and after just a few sessions I could feel the benefit, feeling fitter and trimmer. John makes it fun and it feels relaxed even though it's hard work! I actually look forward to doing exercise now! John also gives great advice on diet and strategies to help you stick to it. I started working with John in January 2016 initially to maintain my weight and improve tone. He has a completely holistic approach to fitness so that I understand what motivates me and what I need to improve both mentally and physically. I not only feel fitter, stronger and more toned since working with John I also feel I have a more positive attitude generally. I started running with John just over a ago (having not run since school! ). I’m now training for my first 10k - something I never thought I’d do! It’s been a real learning curve for me and I’m enjoying every minute!
I joined John's Bootcamp 6 weeks ago, a decision which was a bit spur of the moment. I wanted to get more active, improve my fitness and hopefully lose a bit of weight along the way and knew I needed to make a change. From the 1st session, despite being slightly apprehensive as to what awaited me, I was warmly welcomed into the fold. The group is always relaxed and friendly, the sessions non-competitive and all-inclusive, catering for all abilities and fitness levels. And there's plenty of laughs! I now feel much more energised and look forward to each session. Bootcamp has renewed my lost love of working out and keeping fit!
I have been attending John’s Brummie Bootcamp since September 2017 and have loved every minute. Since I have started I have lost just over 2 stone with a mix of bootcamp sessions and healthy eating. John provides an excellent, achievable diet plan and regular inspirational stories and advice to help you on your journey. I have previously attended the gym, however didn’t keep it up as I “got bored. ” John’s bootcamp has not left me feeling that way at all, in fact I now enjoy exercising. I was a person who hated exercise and would feel very self-conscious about people watching me exercise, however John and his ladies make you feel so welcome and I have seen huge improvement in my fitness. The ladies who attend bootcamp are so lovely and real women who you can relate too. Now I am not scared or embarrassed to exercise and my confidence has grown greatly over the last 7 months. I’ve recently joined Fit Brummie Boot Camp and I am really enjoying! I’ve been looking for a fitness solution which would fit round my busy life a working mum and I think I’ve found it! The sessions are challenging (what’s the point if they’re not! ? ) but equally everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace. There is all the support you need from John (who truly knows his stuff) and the others in the group. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, which made it a lot less daunting to go in the beginning. I’ve already started to see results and look forward to seeing more! I’d highly recommend to anyone thinking about joining.
About 7 weeks ago I saw a video on Facebook about a free trial at Fit Brummie Boot Camp. Over the past year or so my weight had increased, a mixture of the usual stresses and strains plus I’d started a new job in a large team where there are birthdays or celebrations every day (and the ‘goodies’ are right behind my desk! ). But I’d got to that point where you know you need to do something. So, I took the plunge. I didn’t know what to expect and was really (really) nervous but John is very welcoming and knows his stuff (as he says - he’s been in the same situation so knows what it feels like). It’s an all ladies group, and they are all very welcoming. The training is outdoors which I really enjoy (as I’m cooped up all day it’s nice to get some air), and it’s all core strength. It’s hard work (but isn’t it meant to be? ), we have a bit of a giggle along the way and you do feel you’ve achieved something at the end of the session. Seven weeks down the line I feel healthier, I know my fitness levels have increased, I’ve lost about 8lb in weight and have met some lovely people. If you are thinking about taking the plunge my advice would be to just do it and see what it’s all about.Moreexpand_more
I have been going to boot camp since sept 15, I regularly do two morning sessions, when I first started I didn't no what to expect. I didn't exercise at all. And felt unfit, since starting I've lost 12lb toned up and feel a lot fitter, who says exercise is for the young, I'm 58 years old, and enjoy ever session, it's a great start to my day, John always gives you words of encouragement and motivation, it's the best thing I've done.
I've known John for just over a year now, but only met once. That once was to run a 10k race together in the most fabulous city in the world - London. What an experience for two reasons. 1. To run around London with a guy who I really admire, and who inspires me on a daily basis with his no nonsense ramblings, and 2, to run past Big Ben! Johns approach is exactly what it says on the tin - no nonsense. John cuts through the c**p and tells it like it is and in my experience, if you listen (and I mean really listen) his advice is incredibly powerful. Why is this? I think Its because John intuitively understands the psychology of how people think, what makes us tick, the excuses we make, the reasons we fail to consistently apply the basics, and he provides coping strategies. Being consistent to Johns advice has made a big difference to me, personally - I won't tell you my fat boy story! I can say though, that the inspiration and advice John has provided remotely has really helped to make sure I haven't gone back to being overweight and unfit again. As a busy parent, working full time I was struggling to fit fitness into my routine, but John's morning bootcamps are an excellent solution. I can complete three 45 minute workouts a week and be home by 7am for breakfast with the family. The sessions are fun and always different and there is no shouting.
My next door neighbour talked me into joining her at boot camp. I am not a morning person, so never thought I would be able to get up before 6am. However I did and I still do! My goal was to loose weight for my wedding this September which I achieved. I have yet to experience boot camp in the snow ( the cold and the rain I can cope with! ) but I am sure John will make it entertaining and worth getting up for! Hannah Green-Higgins.
Liked it. Reluctant to give it 5, but it was close! Have been training and getting diet advice from John. He has instilled into me the importance of "DIET", no, not just avoiding having chocolate and alcohol but really making food work for you with your training. His sessions were good fun and varied, not just trying to "max" me out all the time, but going through techniques etc. Very thoughtful and enjoyable working with him… will do it again in the future….
John is a great trainer and a mentor. I was lucky enough to meet John at Inspiring Fitness and his passion for the industry was outstanding. After seeing John in action as a practitioner I would highly recommend his services. You can trust John in helping you achieve your health and fitness goals.
I have been training with John for around 6 weeks now and can honestly say I would never go back to my previous lifestyle. John has inspired me to live a healthier lifestyle and encouraged me to incorporate simple movement exercises which have made the world of difference! When I first spoke with John I told him I had 6 weeks to shape up ready for my up and coming wedding but I did not want to lose weight as I already have a slim frame so struggled with what kind of exercises I should be doing and what type of food I should be eating. John talked me through what he can offer and I decided I would go for two 1 hour sessions a week and I would also attend up to 2 of John’s brummie boot camp sessions a week. Before I started training with John I would feel tired around 2pm - and working in an office job this is not cool! Since my diet has been tweaked and I’ve started exercising I can see a visible difference in the right areas and I feel a lot more active in my day to day life. I was never one to go to a gym as I find them intimidating and to be honest I didn’t know what the hell I was meant to do there. John made me feel comfortable and gave me one to one training which was varied every time to keep it interesting and challenging at the same time. I have worked with John for 2 months now and love his all honesty and no sugar coating approach. He helped me adopt a realistic strategy that helped me work on my weight. Through his assistance, I am now taking responsibility for my eating patterns and owning up to every choices I make. This is only the beginning, the strategy approach enables me to make good decisions even in his absence. I recommend him to anyone struggling with their weight anyday. :).
For some time I had been looking to loose weight trying Weight Watchers and other weight loss programs. What I really struggled with was keeping focused and making the sessions. Finding John's details online has really worked for me! First we were able to make appointments that suited my busy work schedule, all I had to do was stick to them. Then I had to get over the first few sessions, not that they were difficult more the fact that I wasn't used to it! - Once you get over this its much easier. Now, 10 weeks in, I have stuck to the advice and coaching, following the diet plan and I am immensely proud to be 18 pounds lighter and needing to buy a new belt as I have lost 3 inches off my waist. Top bloke, keeps it real and a real ambassador to all Personal Trainers! Thanks John.
I have struggled with my weight and self image for as long as I can remember. 6 weeks ago I started going to Johns' weight loss seminars, and I can honestly say that things I thought I was stuck with forever are starting to disappear, including the weight! Johns' approach is honest and insightful. It is clear to see how passionate he is about the message he is trying to spread, which is focussed on helping people to become healthy and happy. I have discovered that I actually can lose weight, that I can do it healthily and all the while getting rid of some of the negativity that comes with being overweight. Would more than recommend!
After having 2 children 19 months apart I had become several stones overweight. I find it easy to use excuses to not go to the gym, and after previously being a keen runner I was lacking motivation to get back into it. I decided I needed to have someone motivate me. I saw the bootcamp sessions online and decided to join up. John gave me a copy of his diet plan, and I must say I was very dubious to start with about giving up carbs. All he said was 'give it a week'. So I did. I lost 9 pounds. I wasn't hungry and after a couple of days the cravings for carbs 'and all things bad' went. I have tried most diets and am a self confessed greedy pig. So this was very surprising. I went to bootcamp 2-4 times a week and stuck to the plan. I have dropped 2 dress sizes and 2 stone 3 pounds in 3 months. I can only but highly recommend.Moreexpand_more
Me and my sister both attended John's bootcamp sessions as part of the biggest loser competition. The sessions are great fun but most importantly the exercises work! You do not have to be super fit or slim to go to Johns sessions, everyone is welcome and nobody is judged, just do what you can and watch the magic happen! I have also perviously had personal training sessions with John and would highly recommend this service. He is professional, always on time, never makes you feel uncomfortable and is always 100% supportive in helping you achieve your goals. He gives you great dietary advice, keeps it simple and tells you exactly what works. (He is also quite funny but don't tell him that as it goes to his head) :) My sister Leanne won the biggest loser competition losing 13lbs in just 6 weeks (she can't right her own review as she doesn't have a computer at the moment), this is what she has to say:'I had never done a bootcamp before and was really nervous but John was so supportive and everyone made me feel so welcome. I could hardly do any of the excersices to start with but with Johns encouragement I kept on persevering and managed to lose 13lbs in 6 weeks. Johns dietary advice gets results fast and he's always ready to help. He knows what works and his mission is to help people. I would highly recommend him.
