JKA Karate East Lothian established the club within Musselburgh 25 years ago and has been providing an opportunity to learn traditional Japanese Karate as taught by the Japan Karate Association, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and regarded as the 'Keeper of Karate's Highest Tradition.
JKA Karate East Lothian is also affiliated to the JKA World Federation, JKA Europe, JKA Scotland and the Scottish Karate Governing Body, We also offer authentic Japanese Gradings.

JKA Karate East Lothian is run by Sensei Bert Stewart 5th Dan JKA, a senior Instructor with JKA Scotland and began teaching in 1977. The dojo at Musselburgh was opened April 1997, initially at Stoneyhill Community Centre, now at the Queen Margaret University.

JKA Karate East Lothian ( Musselburgh Dojo), provides training in Shotokan karate as taught by the Japan Karate Association, (keepers of karate's highest traditions), headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
