I am a portrait artist based in Bournemouth, specialising in both people and pets. Since graduating from the prestigious Falmouth Arts University with a Diploma in Art and Design as well as Bournemouth Arts Institute with a degree in Illustration, I have had over ten years experience producing detailed and lifelike portraits. I use a biro or a ballpoint pen as well as other medias including oil paints, watercolour, pastels and pencils. Feel free to contact me for a quote or just to chat further.

I am most inspired by people, their quirks and unique little characteristics. My aim is to capture their soul in the painting or drawing. I love to people watch and study expressions.
As a young child I found a book on Lucien Freud the painter. He and Jenny Saville were my main inspirations as they were so brilliant at capturing minute expressions as well as painting skin tones with all the thousands of different colours that goes into them.

I regularly take only large commissions but love to paint what I like as well when I have time. There then get proofed and made into high quality prints on 240gsm paper. I sell these prints in my shop along with cards and most recently ceramic hanging ornaments printed with my designs.
