Jane has a superb knowledge of biomechanics; she can tell what needs strengthening or mobilising to ease pain and restore mobility. Often that is just through observing stance or movement - it seems intuitive - but, of course, it is a result of knowledge and experience. It's surprising how you think you are doing an exercise properly and Jane will make a little adjustment and it's suddenly more demanding and consequently more beneficial. Working with her on a 1:1 basis has been instrumental in helping me, as a 70 year old, to maintain my fitness to keep on playing tennis and cricket and to be able to compete against people half my age! I would highly recommend Jane as a personal trainer, group and Pilates trainer. She is clearly very passionate about her work and has extensive and wide ranging knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Jane is very motivating but in a responsible and considerate manner, she will personally focus on any weak areas with the view of building strength, even in larger group session. She can push for extra effort in a session without using 'bootcamp' techniques. I have been a client of Jane's both in HIT training group sessions and Pilates for several years. Like many other members of Jane's group I have experienced the buzz after every session, both mentally and physically. Many thanks Jane. .
Jane is the best ambitious personal trainer, Pilates teacher and warm kind lady that I have met. I first met Jane a good few years back for a one -one Pilates sessions to sort out a painful muscle imbalance, she made any moves adaptable and personalised. She would make me believe in my self to be adventurous and willing to undertake new and daring moves that would only improve my overall strength , Jane would make sure I was ok and improving at all times. After feeling confident and ready , I’ve moved in to the class sessions. I’ve also had a few one to one weight training which I really enjoyed, Jane even went to the extra mile again and showed me the gym equipment! She also gives out free advice on nutrition and asking any questions is never a bother. Thanks so much Jane I look forward to your class every week. Jane has a. Jane's knowledge of anatomy and skill as a trainer and a teacher of Pilate's are exceptional. Over a period of 18 months she was able to help me recover from serious back and leg damage due to lumbar stenosis. My pelvic core stability had been badly compromised. Now things are very much improved thanks to her skill and patience.
The best personal trainer I have ever come across. Sympathetic and understanding with enormous knowledge of what is required. Whether recovering from injury or just trying to get fit Jane will tailor programs that achieve results, and ensure that interest is maintained beyond the achieving of the results.
I've been training with Jane for several months now and I'm really pleased with the sessions. Following a sports injury and subsequent surgery, Jane has helped tremendously by helping to rebuild my confidence in exercising again, regaining general strength whilst correcting my posture and providing great nutritional advice. After a frustrating period post surgery I am now back to enjoying exercise and feeling good in my side. I would recommend Jane Shields to all, she works you hard and gets results.
