James Cardiff Locksmith

***This review does not reflect the quality of the service provided, but the lack of service provided and the approach to it. ***. The locksmith was called as an emergency by someone else on my behalf (I lost my house key while walking my dog with no phone or access to one) who said he would charge me £100 without an explanation about what the cost entails and why this amount, only a question about the type of door. Eventually, I was able to get into my house with the help of good neighbours and at this point the locksmith arrived. He insisted that I pay the full amount for a service I no longer needed and had no way of cancelling in enough time, again without a credible explanation why that is. Quoting T&Cs on his website, which he could not show me at the time, he forced me to pay for a service I never received. After reviewing his website, there are three different web pages that state different information regarding how much or whether one will be charged, if an emergency service is no longer needed ("at the discretion of the locksmith", "half the price" and "full price"), which is inconsistent and incorrect based on what I got charged in the end (£70). James displayed a very unprofessional and slightly disrespectful behaviour towards me, showing no consideration or understanding of a stressful situation, as he claims on his website. I was not provided with an invoice for the money I paid him and will definitely not be using his services in the future or recommend them to others based on my experience, particularly as there is a lack of transparency on his pricing and T&Cs. .

I have used other locksmiths in the past and it’s always turned out more expensive than they originally stated. James told me how much it would be and that’s exactly what it cost, it was also cheaper than the others I have used. James was fast, helpful and a really nice guy. I would definitely recommend him and would certainly use him again.

In a crisis, James saved the day promptly, expertly and effortlessly and put my Mum at ease, getting her back into her house in seconds, and I mean seconds! Thank you James. A star, who answered our call calmly and most expediently to avoid leaving us waiting for too long.

Amazing service very reliable and punctual. My car caused problems but he didnt give up he spent two hours on it the one day on a bank holiday but couldnt get the new key to work he didnt even charge me a fee. He went home called me back the next morning to say he had figured out the problem. He returned later that day and after working for another hour an half on it got it going. So happy I could of cried ? All for the first price he quoted me. What a gent xView less.

I had locked my keys in the car. Rang James and within half hour he came out, within 2 minutes he had opened the car door - what more could you ask for? Great service, great price!
