I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the great course yesterday. We all really enjoyed it and feel so much more confident in using the camera, you have demystified all the settings for us. You are such a gifted teacher, you managed to pitch it for the right level for us and communicated the information so clearly and made it so much fun.
A wonderful morning at Jackie’s Introduction to DSLR Photography course. It is a thoroughly enjoyable workshop, with very clear and helpful theory, followed by lots of fun practical work outside. I definitely feel more confident to start getting creative with my camera now! Jackie is an excellent trainer - patient, kind, interesting and generous with her advice. I cannot recommend her training sessions highly enough.
Jackie's teaching style suited me: clear, no jargon and interesting. I understood everything she taught immediately and was totally engaged for the full 4 hours. Her use of stories to get points across is a good way of it getting it to stick in the memory. It was the best and the most interesting 4 hours learning I've done for a long while. Jackie followed up the course with additional email information to all students as promised. She also sent me information on an area I had expressed an interest in.
Attended the intermediate DSLR course arranged by Jackie, and run by Carl. I had an excellent day, and learned a huge amount about the specifics of DSLR photography - and realised that, despite taking photos for 40+ years, I had a lot of misconceptions to lose! The venue (Loyd Lindsay Rooms, Ardington) was very good indeed - it was a little remote, and I did get briefly lost - and the photographer (Carl) was excellent; not only did he know the technical stuff inside out, but it was obvious that he had been a professional trainer - even though we skipped around the agenda, we managed to cover everything that we set out to do. I wouldn't hesitate to sign up for another course from this team!
As someone who hates having her photograph taken, I was not entirely looking forward to my shoot with Jackie. However, I immediately felt at ease with her and am really pleased with the photos she has taken. The autumn colours come across brilliantly and the location in Abingdon was just right. I now have an abundance of images ideal to use on my web site and marketing material. Thank you Jackie, I will definitely be in contact for another photo shoot in 2013.
My fiance and I have been absolutely delighted with the photos that Jacqui that took of both our wedding day and also our pre-wedding engagement shoot. Jacqui was incredibly helpful in all aspects of organisation, timing and following our wishes. Jacqui was also an unobtrusive photographer on our wedding day which was exactly what we asked for and we have so many lovely photos that it is almost impossible not to choose the whole lot. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jacqui to anyone!
Working with Jackie (and she really does work *with* her subjects) for a second time was an enjoyable and rewarding experience. On a previous occasion I and my girlfriend did an outdoor 'personal portfolio' shoot with Jackie, and we are still using the shots taken on display all around our house and online. This second shoot was done using Jackie's 'commercial' package to generate a series of shots just of my to use for professional purposes. Jackie is receptive, understanding, experienced and highly skilled, with a wonderful eye for good lighting, the virtues of the outdoors and producing a wide range of 'looks' for her subjects.
AS photographs are a necessity to promote you and your business and being one who hates having a camera pointed at them I can only say that Jackie`s relaxed attitude makes it such fun and not at all torture! Her skills are immense clearly deomnstrated by making us all look so glamorous! Thank you Jackie.
Jackie was absolutely brilliant on the day and the lead up to the wedding day. We met a few times and each time both my husband and I felt like we had known her for years. So many of our guests commented on how brilliant she was and how she was constantly snapping away. Jackie was very unobtrusive (I've worked with her twice - as a bridesmaid and as a bride). I would definately recommend her to future brides.
I am so happy to have met Jacqueline Cross! Normally I would feel very shy in front of the camera. However, it was such a pleasant surprise when we began the photo shoot. Jackie was professional, precise, extremely organised and fun at the same time. I loved every minute for it. I actually felt like I was having a celebration. I can't wait to have another photo shoot again. Thank you Jackie!
