When I first visited Jo last year anxiety and panic attacks had completely taken over my life. I was unable to work, had difficulty leaving the house and a severe phobia of flying. Jo helped me through the most difficult time of my life. Together we identified the root cause of my problem and she gave me the strength and courage I needed to make big changes in my life to start to overcome my problems. Jo felt like a friend, she was caring, compassionate and understanding but also kicked me into action when I needed it! She really went the extra mile for me and I am eternally grateful for the help she provided. I am a much happier, stronger person thanks to Jo's help. I have also just managed to complete 6 flights in 7 days on a trip to Thailand thanks to the skills that Jo furnished me with! I saw Jo having dealt with a intense bout of anxiety, my boyfriend found her online and spoke to her before me, she was very helpful in the start up process and tried to make me feel at ease as I was incredibly nervous. Upon meeting oj we clicked instantly, there's no pressure or clip board clinical feeling. It was nice to sit there and have a talk to someone you didn't feel was judging and took a genuine interest in how you's felt and how she felt she could best help with the issues. She introduced me to something called Eft which is an ancient form of acupuncture I found this helped greatly with my random bursts of anxiety and helped bring me back to the present moment. We also used CBT to look into the issues we both agreed where a problem and try and figure out how they made me feel and figure out alternatives to helping these problems go away! After a few months Jo felt I was ready too be forward and use the tools given to help me have a happier and healthy life. I'm very grateful for my time with oj and everything she taught me is still a huge part of my life! I'm pleased with the experience I had with Jo - she is very professional and easy to talk to. My sessions have finished now, but I feel that I have the tools to carry on improving and that I can be my own therapist to some extent. I wouldn't say that I am 'cured' - that would be unrealistic - but I am in a much better place than I was originally and I am much more resilient now. I would recommend her to anybody.
After suffering with a fear of wasps for over 30 years, to the point of getting out of moving cars and walking in front of trafific I realised I had to do something about it before I cause serious harm to myself and those around me. I contacted jo believing I was a lost cause. She made me realise in a short space of time how I visualise these wasps and brought out feeling I didn't even observe myself. My fear was so out of control it governed my whole life. After two sessions I was able to stand by a bin, walk through a garden of flowers and even sit on a train that I knew was cohabiting a wasp without running, falling over people, moving people out the way and most importantly having what felt like a constant summer heart attack. I am now looking forward to. My holiday to bali and I am at a point where I know I can book future trips without checking out the wasp and insect population before viewing the beaches. Jo has changed my life and I view wasps so differently. It took two hours of her time not two years as I thought initially. Thank you so much I would defiantly refer all to jo. No one can appreciate the shear relief of my family knowing that when the sun is out I can walk safely down the road. I was so elated after my last meeting I telephoned all family and friends to tell them I walked amongst flowers and stopped at a bin. I came to Jo regarding the unwanted impact of physical and mental stress responses from prolonged exposure to stress without managing it. I had thought a lot about my situation prior to attending sessions and was at the time going in a positive direction having come through a lot of the tough times. So I was not sure what level of value Jo could add. It was in fact a lot of value that I gained from my sessions. I was able to work through reasons for my behaviour, had a calm safe space and understanding person for acceptance of my discomfort. Get an experienced professional to guide me through situations to gain positive reflection, and ultimately share useful advice, new perspectives and tool and techniques for managing stress I was able in a short time to feel freer of mind, validated that I need not put up with my situation and was in control and had techniques that I could put into practice for future events. I would definitely recommend Jo to those needed a sound person capable of understanding and offering the correct professional experience to help them overcome their issues. Importantly while in session the environment and nature Jo has means you can feel calm and secure to feel comfortable to really tackle your issues and allow Jo the space to help guide and mange you through any difficult points and share her expertise and knowledge to best help you. Initially I was very dubious about speaking to a therapist, but I can honestly say that it was the best decision I have ever made. 7 months of sessions with Jo has completely changed my life. I had suffered with anxiety in certain aspects of my life for many years and didn't think that I would ever be able to change how I felt. With Jo's skills and guidance I have overcome those fears. I looked forward to my appointments with Jo as I felt that I got so much out of every session. I would highly recommend Jo to anyone.
Choosing to work with Jo was one of the best decisions I have made. Challenging, kind and thoughtful, Jo used multiple techniques and approaches to help me understand, manage and control anxiety. A mix of theory and really practical support meant I could tackle the problems I faced and feel a real difference almost immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jo. When I first went to see Jo I was in one of the darkest place I had been in my life. I was suffering severe depression and anxiety and didn't think I would find a way out. Jo helped me find a way to deal with years of issues and problems that had mounted up and led to quite a spectacular breakdown. Each session helped me see a little light at the end of the tunnel. Where do I start. I went to Jo in such a state , so low full of grief anxeity and depression. After my first session with jo I was already seeing the benefits of being with Jo. I saw Jo regularly for about five months to work on my coping mechanisms, for struggles I was experiencing in my life. Before the work with Jo, I was very confused, anxious and almost suffocated with my own thoughts. Jo helped me to understand myself and opened up new ways to deal with my fears. I recently spent about 6months attending sessions with Jo. When I first starting seeing her I can honestly say I was at my lowest point in my life. My counselling was a mixture of bereavment, depression and anxiety. Jo has helped me see that I can deal with life as a whole and I now know I will never feel that bad again as she taught me to recognise the signs. Jo is amazing!
