I feel so lucky to have found Ian and agree with the compliments paid to him in the other reviews. He has just completed a long job, repainting the front of my house and rebuilding/repairing/repainting the shutters and window cills. He worked 7 days a week and despite the awful weather conditions was always cheerful and friendly. His repair work is particularly good. The rain and cold meant the paintwork was hard to do. Would definitely recommend.

Ian has just completed storm repairs to our roof, we waited a while for him to fit us in but was worth the wait, Ian was friendly and kept us informed during the repairs, all work was carried out cleanly and all rubbish was removed we would never know they had been here. We will definitely use him again if needed.

Ian gave me good advice on the roofing work that was needed on my house. He undertook the work thoroughly and has a good professional approach to the task in hand. He cleaned up afterwards and removed what wasn't needed from the site. He is more than happy to answer any questions and I have found him to be always friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and he has a very good work ethic. I was very pleased with the work on my roof and asked Ian to update the front of the house covering the fascia with uPVC and replacing the guttering and downpipe. He, also painted the front of the house and I am very pleased with all the work he has done to date. Highly recommended.

Ian recently carried out work for us, he went above the quote to provide an excellent service. His attention to detail is superb and the work completed was above our expectations. Ian is very approachable and his work is of a very high standard.

I asked Ian for a quote to locate and repair a leak in the roof. His work was excellent and he went above and beyond what I had expected or he had quoted. Unfortunately, it rained heavily that night and unrequested he returned the following day ( a Sunday) to check that the Lime mortar had not been washed away before having time to fully dry. Concerned that some of it had been unsettled he returned later in the week to make good. Exceptional service and extremely professional. And no more leaking.

Ian rendered the front of our house. He also painted the front which was 3 storeys as well as the courtyard walls and the ones leading up to the front door. We had a replacement wood front door which he fitted and painted. Lovely friendly man and he did an excellent job. We are very happy with his work and would highly recommend him.

We had a leaking ridge above our garage, Ian removed the faulty ridge and fitted a modern dry ridge system, he also fitted some new lead flashing and replaced some cracked tiles. Ian kept us informed, he turned up on time, he completed the work to an excellent standard, he left everything clean and tidy. Our rafters are drying out nicely, and Ian is now our "go to" man for anything that might need doing in the future.

Ian recently completed roof repairs to our property. All work was carried out to a very high standard and completed cheerfully and professionally. We were given updates re start date, ongoing progress, and any issues that became apparent as work took place, which gave added confidence in the quality of work being done. We would not hesitate to use Ian's company again in the future.

We had Ian out originally to replace an old rotten roof above our bay window, and the work was fantastic. We have then just had Ian back to do some work to our chimney breasts, one he has rendered and plastered and the other has been stripped back to brick, cleaned up and sealed it looks beautiful. Ian left both rooms very clean and put everything back where it was before he started. We would highly recomend Ian to anyone, the cost of the work we have had done was very good and less than we anticipated. And he is such a down to earth trust worthy guy, and we would without a doubt use him again!

As a forcibly retired tradesman due to health issues I employed Ian to scratch build me a new lockable garden gate. The workmanship was impeccable, Ian was friendly polite and happy to answer any questions. I have to say by the time he'd finished the job he left the back yard cleaner than when he arrived! I can highly recommend Ian's work! Thank you Ian.

Ian replaced areas of lead on my roof and above windows as well as painting the outside, cleaning the Bath stone surrounds and renovating my front door. He provided an excellent service. He was prompt and kept me informed throughout. He clearly takes a pride in his work and knows his stuff when it comes to older buildings. I am very happy to recommend him.

I was very pleased with the work Ian carried out on my roof. He gave me a detailed quotation and when some other unexpected further work was required, did not proceed without giving exact details of the cost. His charges were very competitive compared to similar work done on another part of the roof some years ago. He was punctual, reliable, honest and very friendly. Ian we chose you because right from the word go your responsiveness was spot on with our needs and requests, not only did you start the project a number of weeks earlier than agreed ( due to a cancelation ), you also spent a couple of hours with us prior to the project starting, confirming the work we wanted carried out, taking to time to explain everything in detail when asked – we asked a lot! Knowledgeable, very helpful and extremely personable, other than our very friendly Labrador distracting Ian, he arrived on time, re-confirmed the work going on that day and got on with it. When the work was completed Ian showed us what he had done and checked that we were happy with it. It goes without saying the project was completed to an exceptional high standard of workmanship, well within time guidelines given and costings were within our agreed budget. Ian did excellent repair work to our leaking roof and chimney stacks. He kept me informed about when he could come and do the work, and when doing the repairs. He supplied photos once completed. I would highly recommend him.

I asked Ian to replace my fascia and soffits after seeing he had many satisfied customers on here. The quote he gave was quick and efficient and very reasonable. I was really not quick an efficient in asking him in to do the job, and he was very understanding about it! During the work, Ian kept me informed of what was being done at every stage, with lots of photos, great communication. The work uncovered a long list of undiscovered problems with the roof, including animal damage and rotten rafters. Ian was able to fix a lot of them at no extra cost, and for the items that did require more, he gave me a call and explained everything very clearly. In the end I feel like I got very good value for money and have no hesitation in recommending Ian.

I chose Ian after a bad experience with a roofing firm we found through checkatrade. Ian explained in simple terms what needed repairing and suggested some improvements. He put our mind at rest as the previous firm made out we had real issues and leaks into attic space. Ian knew exactly that this time of year it's normally condensation and installed some new tile vents. I would absolutely recommend Ian for his punctuality, customer service and professionalism. The work completed is also extrmem tidy and looks great.

Excellent service through the whole job from scaffolding going up to rubbish being removed. Ian is reliable: unlike many contractors, he started work the day he promised. He and his colleague worked on our roof for 6 days - and they really worked. At lot was done in that time. No messing about. They know what they are doing and do it very well. Ian's lead repairs are a work of art. Apart from the lead-work, he also repaired cracked chimney stacks and re-rendered, replaced coping stones, replaced felt, replaced broken tiles, put in a new hip and ridge system, re-rendered and waterproofed brickwork. Needless to say, he fixed my leak! Ian is service oriented: I added a couple of small extra requests at the last minute (installing a chimney pot/cowl and bird proofing capped chimneys) - Ian just did it without talking about extra cost or complaining. Service. I'm, waiting for some really bad weather to fully test Ian's work but I'm pretty damn confident its more than good - and I'm 100% confident that if there was even a small residual issue then Ian would be back like a shot. I wouldn't say that he is cheap, but I think Ian's work is very good value for money. Apart from that, Ian is an very decent bloke, easy to talk to and very professional. Agree with other reviewers. Top quality work. Have had both lead and general roofing work done and it is clear that Ian and his team know what they're doing. You have to wait for them to be available and pay top rates but frankly it's worth it to know the job has been done to a high standard and when they say it will be.

Ian is a rarity in this day and age, an artisan who takes genuine pride in his work. He is not cheap, but then the best of anything never is. He is however hard working, quick and has an attention to detail that is first rate. I have marked VfM as satisfactory as I'm prepared to pay more for first rate service. His Service was exceptional. In simple terms he said what he would do, and did it, on time, tidied up after himself and had the scaffolding up and down inside of 10 days. The Quality is actually 6 stars. Never seen anything like it in terms of a roof repair job. Proper artistry, well executed. I would not hesitate to recommend Ian and his team. He is not the cheapest but no point on scrimping on the roof in a city like Bristol where we do get the odd spot of wind and rain.Moreexpand_more

After a bad and very costly experience with a roofing company (Bath and Wilts roofing) I was a bit concerned about getting another company in to look at my roof and fix the leak which had caused damage to my bathroom ceiling. However I needn't have worried as Ian and his team were reliable, efficient and very professional, turning up when he said they would and on time - a big tick in my book! He took lots of before and after photos so I knew exactly what the job entailed and what had been done. I now no longer dread it when it rains as I know the roof is water tight. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ian's company for any roofing job.
