We called Cameron Friday tea time to see if he could come look at our BAXI boiler. He came out the same night, after diagnosing our boiler he found that our circuit board had gone but couldn't get a part until the next day. He returned the next morning and had our boiler up and running in no time. We were very pleased with Hyde's gas and would highly recommend them to anyone. Many thanks Jean.

Nice guy. Turned up after requesting boiler repair on freeindex. Attached his diagnostic machine to our boiler and assured us it was the water pump. Told us "if it didn't work, don't pay me" fitted new pump at a cost of £180 cash. Boiler still not working. Tried to call him and left several messages to call us back, but he didn't bother. Could have been handled a lot better through communication cameron. One unhappy customer. RESPONSEI like to think I'm a fair person and when I wrote this review, It was based on facts, no derogatory remarks or false accusations. So in response to your allegations, which try and invalidate my comments and "hasty Review" The pump had not gone, the boiler was still functioning but had an ignition lockout fault, which is what I stated when I requested quotes on Freeindex.After attaching your diagnostic equipment to the boiler, You were adamant that the pump was faulty and replaced it at a cost of £180, even though these can be bought online for around £60, you told us they were £110, plus £70 labour. So that's £120 Labour right ?The boiler didn't work after you fitted the pump as you claimed, as I text you the same evening to inform you the boiler was showing the same fault and you replied it needed a a thermistor. You didn't come back the next day, it was actually 6 days later. Again, this made no difference and the boiler was still functioning the same as before.I informed you I didn't want to spend money on the boiler as i was aware it had not been very well maintained and I would rather spend the money on a new boiler as it was over 9 years old, but we trusted your judgement and spent £180, which has made no difference what so ever to the performance of the boiler.You informed us the boiler had sustained a lot heat damage and wasn't in good condition, but only after we had paid £180 for a pump that has not improved the situation. The only reason I am writing these comments is because we feel you could have given us an informed choice and inspected the boiler and informed us the other potential faults before we spent nearly £200 on a pump that has made no difference ?You have also stated it was 3 months ago, it was actually the 18th of February when you came.I did indeed contact you on the 22nd of march to ask if you would kindly complete a report on our behalf to confirm that the boiler had several faults , as we have been told the boiler is an inefficient boiler and we are eligible for an A grade.I would of course paid you for this report, just as i paid you on the day for the pump you fitted.You may have tried to contact me, but i too have my own business and receive lots of calls every day, but you left no message.The only reason I have taken the time to leave this feedback is because we have been left with the impression you have fitted a pump we didn't need, we are £180 out of pocket and our situation hasn't changed .Moreexpand_more
Response : Hi I think this is a very unfair review, after I received your first phone call I came out to have a look at your boiler the same day. Upon investigation your boiler had numerous faults on it, and from the customers own admition had never had the boiler serviced. Therefor being neglected, the pump had gone which was making the thermistor on the boiler activate. Over time with the boiler overheating on a daily basis the thermistor had broken. The boiler has suffered really bad heat damage. I explained to the customer that it needed a new pump and also explained that there could be something else wrong with it. I said if it doesn't work don't pay me that's fine, after I replaced the pump it worked but the thermistor had gone so I went back the next day with a thermistor. The boiler was now working, but as described earlier there is still a lot of damage to the boiler and I went through this very thoroughly with the customer. The customer payed me the money for the pump. I never charged them for the £26 thermistor. I then 3 months later got a voicemail when I was on holiday saying can I write them a report because they qualify for a new boiler. I returned back off holiday today tried to contact them to discuss this issue further and I've seen this review on my wall. Cameron turned up within a couple of hours and installed a gas hob for me on a kitchen refurbishment job. Really nice guy and great work. He will be doing future work for me as hes reliable.

What a refreshing change. Hyde's customer service is second to none. Cameron is a heating engineer who actually wants to help you get your boiler and heating working again. He came early morning and Sunday to work around me/my work hours.

Made our Christmas, Cameron came to my house on Christmas Eve! Because I had no heating and hot water, he was very understanding and helpful and managed to get my boiler up and running. We are very grateful and cannot thank Hyde's Gas enough.

We recently had a thermostat installed in our house for use with our Vaillant boiler, as well as a couple of other issues with the boiler. This work was been completed very professionally and we are very pleased with the outcome (a Honeywell thermostat has been installed). Brilliant service, the team came in to replace and install a five ring hob. The smart young gentlemen who came were polite and well mannered, their work was quick, quiet and efficient and they cleaned up after themselves. Their prices beat their competition. I would highly recommend their service.
