About Horse & Heart
Horse and Heart Centre for Holistic Learning offers training in "Horse Whispering" for all. It is a place for horses to learn the way of people in a gentle way, based on free will and confidence-boosting, and for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn the way of horses just in the same way.
Holistic Horsemanship can be used for anything one might like to do with a horse, from grooming to riding or horse logging. Or simply watching them and understanding what they do and say! It can also be a therapy and/or self-development practice for the people as well as the horses involved, as when given the space horses will help us face our emotions and blockages and we do the same for them. Holistic Horsemanship is a great tool in management and leadership too and is often used to train people into managerial positions at their place of work.
With a background in Psychology, Education and Shamanic Healing as well as Natural Horsemanship, Marie's approach works on many levels of development and tailors to suit each individual and their needs. Marie is qualified in Biodynamic Agriculture and incorporates BD practices both in the care of the horses and land and in the structure of her teaching. Goethean Science is part of the Holistic Horsemanship programme.
Horse and Heart offers the first Natural Horsemanship training specifically designed for working horses.
Marie is also trained in Animal Communication and is a Reiki L2 practitioner.
Horse and Heart is based on DARTMOOR, DEVON, and offers its services in the UK and abroad. The training offered can be for horses who are first brought on or who need re-education (behaviour therapy), from groundwork to riding and/or driving/working in partnership.
For people, individual and group classes for adults and children are offered. Students may start the journey with their own horses or with the H&H herd.
Other events such as Storytelling or workshops in various Nature skills are hosted amongst the horses at Horse and Heart Centre too, for everyone to enjoy the beautiful space and the horses' company.

Qualifications: - Brevet Fédéral d'Équitation Éthologique 2 (French Natural Horsemanship Instructorship) - L3 BTEC in Biodynamic Agriculture and Horticulture - Psychology and Education (University).
- Reiki Healing L2 - Brevet d'Aptitude aux Fonction d'Animatrice (Children's holiday camp leader)
- First Aid.
Horse and Heart has been creating a growing community of Holistic Horse people throughout the UK and France. Horse and pony lovers who have taken the journey to learn their companions' way at play and at work, professionals of the equestrian world (riders, vets, farriers and trimmers, breeders, therapists etc) willing to re-train for the horses' benefit, farmers and loggers who use horses on the land, as well as other people who simply wish to learn self-healing or leadership skills through the help of horses.
A lot of those people stay in touch within their geographical pockets and continue to see each other for friendship and support.

I was fortunate to attend one of Marie’s trainings in natural horsemanship for working horses. Her enthusiasm for the subject was palpable from the word go and this meant that working with Marie was a delight. Today, I'm still discovering the patience and dedication required when engaging with these powerful animals. Marie's work is a great example of these qualities. She teaches in a fun, thorough, and engaging manner. Throughout the short course she passed on a lot of knowledge and experience that was valuable for me and the rest of the group. She strikes a great balance between work and play – both seem central to her life as a natural horsewoman. As well as Marie's infectious curiosity and lightheartedness, she clearly has a strong commitment to safety and professionalism. Thanks to her experience and thorough teaching of safety precautions, I felt safe with the horses at all times, and it seemed that the horses felt comfortable, too. Marie’s method pulls on a variety of skill sets and experiences which serve to make her trainings very valuable. She brought in sound historical and scientific content to the course as well as fun exercises and anecdotes from her life to add a whole other level to the training. She includes the whole group and is sensitive to the needs of individuals therein. This natural horsewoman's simultaneously friendly and professional attitude will be remembered!
