UKA - United Kingdom Alliance of Professional...Highland Dance Shop is a small internet retail outlet aimed at all levels of Highland Dancers. It operates just outside of Edinburgh where collections of purchases can be made personally if not wishing to have your items posted out.
The shop is a professional retailer that supports various highland dancers who either only dance for fitness, displays or exams, or we can provide products that suit competitive highland dancers. We post our items normally first class or by courier and can support our international customers through email.
We aim to support a market which is normally expensive by introducing alternatives from wooden swords to dance patterns. We also have a line of 2nd hand outfits for all styles of highland dance.
Our products have a varied range of items supporting the highland dancer. There are the basic requirements of shoes at different price ranges, CD's, hats and swords. We also have unique to highland dance shop a selection of bags which include hat and sword bags. There are a varied selection of gifts including cards aimed at highland dancers and our popular 2nd hand section is always a great page to visit. Then there is our most sold items which are the highland dancer patterns which gives a great alternative to the expensive newly made outfits.
Highland Dance Shop is ran by a highland dance teacher with many years experience involved in the competitive, examination and display circuits. The shop was set up as a location to support her own dancers with prices to suit all levels of student, and has continued to grow since the day it began.

I sent query about an out of stock item and they were brilliant! Explained the ongoing situation with the item and promised to keep me updated…. Which they did! Whenever stock became available I was emailed …. Items arrived quickly and were exactly as described. Swords and Carry bag were excellent quality for the price…. Cheapest I could find by far. If I had any criticism it would be postage charge …little bit higher than most online shopping. .

I completely understand the postage charges criticism and your concerns. We have tried our best to manage these ever changing amounts. Unfortunately we want to be as honest as we can and the prices of our products are value for money and we don't want to increase these to secretly cover the ever increasing postage costs. However, with the cost of packaging and postal prices constantly on the increase sadly we have to also ensure we cover these costs regardless of the weight or size of the parcel. For a small business, we are unable to have large accounts with courier companies with great discounts. That said we will look into this and see if there is anything else we can do to try to ensure people aren't put off by the costs and ensure we maintain these accurately with current suppliers. Ordered some braces for my daughters kilt. Was slightly panicked as needed them in 3 days for a display she was doing. I sent a note requesting fast delivery, Sharon posted them first thing the following day and they arrived the day after. Really excellent braces with secure hold.
