I booked a 30 minute flight with Heliflight from Gloucestershire Airport for my husband’s 60th birthday present. Neither of us had been in a helicopter before but our pilot was absolutely fabulous, the flight was extremely smooth and comfortable, and our pilot flew us over our requested areas, circling areas of particular interest to us, he even flashed the lights to my husband’s parents when we flew over they’re house. The whole experience was a brilliant and easy, right from booking to landing. Thank you Heliflight, I would definitely recommend your services.

Outstanding introduction flight, Just the right amount of ground based introduction to the controls. In flight I was given the opportunity to try each, the sensitivity and responsiveness was amazing. The pilot who took me up did a perfect job. She must not get nervous any more, taking students up, seen it all before. I will do it again. Just have to figure out what I want to do.

Introductory lesson as a surprise 60th Birthday present. Everyone at Heliflight was extremely friendly and welcoming throughout. After an initial brief Candia got us airborne and within a short time handed me control. What a feeling as we flew over the Malvern Hills then back across to Tewkesbury, before returning and trying to hover back at Gloucester airport. An amazing experience. Thank you.

It was my first time in a helicopter and I have to say from the moment you walked into heliflight you were made to feel welcome by Sophie and the other lady at reception who were so nice. The flight was amazing candia was brilliant, friendly and explained everything so clear. I will definitely be coming back for another flight with Candia. Thank you .

Had a 45min introductory lesson as a 50th birthday present. Previously had a similar experience in a powered glider, but the helicopter was so much better. A pretty quick briefing and then we were airborne - flew across from Staverton to Tewkesbury and then I had a go at the controls. Very good instruction, allowed me to get a feel for the helicopter without being over-intrusive. I know these are tricky to operate but the instructor helped me just enough to give full confidence. And then a return flight to Staverton where I had a go at maintaining a static hover. At the end of the lesson I felt I was getting to grips with it and I'm dying to have another go - very addictive, an amazing experience.

What a fantastic experience! My instructor John explained the basics to me and then we were off, flying over places that I'd expressed an interest in. A flight to May Hill, then to the Forest, flying down the Wye valley to Chepstow and following the Severn for the return to Gloucester. I gained an understanding of the basic controls and got a feeling of the delicate adjustments needed to keep on course or change direction. I will never forget this experience and all above countryside that I know and love. Absolutely priceless, thank you so much. Rich.

This was the best birthday present ever. My children and step children purchased this event for my 70th birthday, knowing that as an ex RAF engineer of 37 years service I would get a lot out of this experience. The day was perfect and my female pilot was very informative and kind. Her explanation of the helicopter, controls, what to look for during flight and area knowledge made the whole package great, many thanks to all the staff @Heliflight.

What an amazing experience! Candida was very friendly but also very professional and reassuring. She instilled great confidence and I couldn't believe how I was able to take the controls soon. I would recommend the flight to anyone. Fantastic!

This was a treat for my wife's 60th birthday. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. We even had pre-flight fizz and chocolates. The staff were fantastic and Candia flew over the Forest of Dean so we could see all our favourite places, including our former and current home. Thoroughly recommend.

What an amazing day. A training flight had been booked as a birthday present for a birthday that I wasn’t expecting to see to give us something to look forward to. We met up with chief instructor Jon Lane to talk through the various aspects of helicopter flying, I had remembered quite a lot from a previous experience about seven years ago and was very keen to fly as much as possible during the flight. Jon is very calm and measured and an excellent instructor always ready but relaxed enough to let me carry on whilst offering up tips to make the experience even better. We flew around some very interesting places including up the course of the Severn which is not as easy as it sounds, we did descending and ascending during the flight and then something I will remember for a long time which is setting course, descending and eventually landing on the airfield. We took off and did another landing as Jon thought it might be a fluke, we managed a second landing and on attempting a third, Jon identified that I was a bit tense and thus a bit clumsy. He was absolutely right I didn’t want to let him down and had tensed up in an attempt to do another good landing! We got down, had a chat about the aircraft, a walk around the hangar and then quick debrief. I can absolutely recommend Heliflight and Jon Lane for your introduction to flying - they are both brilliant and where I will go to get my licence in due course. Thank you Jon and Heliflight.
