I took my Labrador to Melanie's puppy class two years ago and decided to carry on to intermediate, advanced, agility and Rally-o. Melanie's classes are great fun and we've learnt a lot - as a result, Pops is a well socialised, balanced dog who can even play dead! Melanie is always happy to accommodate everyone and give one-to-one advice on behaviour, training and health - I would highly recommend her classes.
Our dog has gone through 3 courses (basic puppy and rally obedience training) with Melanie. She has been friendly, knowledgeable and approachable throughout. I wouldn't hestiate to recommended Melanie and will hopefully be back for agility training in the summer.
Melanie would always be my first choice of Dog Trainer/Behaviourist. I have used her dog training courses for my last 3 puppies and sought one to one advice on the most recent puppy(a work that continues to be "in progress"! ). She has a wealth of experience; places an uncompromising emphasis on the dog's welfare and happiness; and has a great ability to communicate what needs to be done calmly and clearly to the dog owners.
Melanie is a wonderful dog trainer and behaviouralist. We have taken both our dogs to a range of Melanie's classes over the years and every single course has been great. She makes dog training fun and each week both myself and my dogs looked forward to it. Her experience and understanding of animal behaviour is endless. I would highly recommend Melanie's classes and services.
Melanie has helped us get a difficult little Jack Russell dog ( our little Princess) from no training to a (almost) well trained dog. As a Jack Russell Toots was stubborn, had selective hearing (whenever she felt like it! )and a strong will of her own. She felt she was the centre of attention at all times and was going to be top dog wherever we went. She also thought she didn't need training as she knew it all. In fact she had all the traits of a normal untrained Jack Russell. Today, she is well trained and is a joy to live with. She will do all the normal sits, downs, stays, heels and so on. When after a while she thinks she knows best and won't listen, it is back to Melanie for a refresher course. Toots has now past advanced training and just loves her schooling. Melanie has worked so hard with her to get her to this stage and love it. Toots just loves to please and show off her skills now. Thanks Melanie.Moreexpand_more
Melanie has been doing dog training for many years, and her experience is amazing. I took 2 Alaskan Malamutes for training and she encouraged me to bring my children along to the training classes and made them fun, and managed to make the children achieve good behavior from both dogs. It's really good that she can go up to any dog in the group and demonstrate that what she is going to get us to achieve really is possible. She's very patient and believes that rewarding the dog and making dog enjoy itself is paramount, and it works very well. I would highly recommend Melanie.
