About Hatley Labs
Independent hardware testing laboratory based in Cambridgeshire. Battery testing, X-ray inspection, PCB inspection, thermal analysis, power and efficiency testing, and component analysis. Online ordering, transparent pricing, results in 3 to 5 working days. Serving the UK and Europe.
Battery Testing - We measure how battery cells, packs, and battery-powered devices actually perform under real operating conditions. Our battery testing services cover usable capacity measurement, real-world runtime under defined load profiles, charge behaviour and charging circuit characterisation, thermal response during charge and discharge, cycle life assessment, and side-by-side comparison of cells or packs from different suppliers or batches. Results are delivered as a structured report with discharge curves, capacity data, and engineering notes.
X-ray Inspection - We provide non-destructive X-ray inspection of PCB assemblies, electronic components, and battery hardware. X-ray imaging reveals solder joint quality including BGA connections and voiding, internal component construction, layer structure, and any internal defects or damage that cannot be assessed through visual or optical inspection.
We also use X-ray inspection for component authenticity verification, identifying counterfeit or non-conforming parts before they reach production. All inspection is non-destructive and delivered with annotated images and a written findings report.
PCB and PCBA Inspection - We inspect printed circuit boards and populated assemblies for workmanship quality, defects, and build consistency. Our PCB inspection services cover visual and optical inspection of solder joint quality, component placement and alignment, bridging, tombstoning, flux residue, and general workmanship assessment referenced against IPC-A-610 acceptance criteria. We work with engineering teams, procurement managers, and quality functions on incoming batch inspection, supplier qualification, and post-failure investigation.
Thermal Analysis - We map surface temperatures and identify hotspots in electronic and battery-powered hardware operating under real load conditions. Our thermal analysis services identify components or areas approaching thermal limits, assess heat distribution across an assembly, and support thermal path analysis and failure investigation where overheating or thermal degradation is suspected. Results are delivered with calibrated thermal images, annotated hotspot maps, temperature data, and engineering notes.0 FreeIndex Reviews
