Gritnpolish are a friendly and efficient organisation run by Alistair Brown. He responded to my enquiry promptly, which was to treat rusted patio railings by shotblast, clean and repainting them. The railings are L-shaped in plan, measuring 1. 05 m high by 6. 1 m total length He gave sound advice, which was to remove them to his workshop, treat them there and then re-erect them. His quote was competitive, and he held to it despite some extra fixings needed to reinstall the railings. He removed and reinstalled the refurbished railings with the minimum disruption, and they look as good as new. I would recommend Gritnpolish for any similar work. Roy Branson. .
Two ancient farm buildings, whinstone under slate, painted many times over the years, and looking very shabby as a result, really needed to be grit-blasted back to natural stone. Grit 'n' Polish did this for me and made an excellent job. My initial enquiry to them was answered promptly, followed by a site visit and a written quote. The work was started, conducted, and finished just as planned and promised, and within budget. In addition, much useful advice was given on the future maintenance of the newly cleaned stone buildings. Their quote was very competitive, in part because they are not registered for VAT and everything is done by the owner himself, so you are not paying any superfluous costs. Grit 'n' Polish is a responsible and knowledgeable operation, and it is difficult to see how their service and costing could be bettered.
