I was thrilled at the news I was to become a Greatgrandma for the first time and immediately started looking for something just a bit different from the usual shop items for the baby (a girl). I found just what I was looking for on the Granny Knots website. I ordered quite a number of items and am delighted with all of them - so pretty, beautifully made, excellent finish and detail. Since I cannot knit (I tried once and couldn't get the hang of it), it is wonderful for me that this knitting service is available. I bought a beautiful peach baby outfit, consisting of a dress, hat and booties. I was impressed that I was even given a choice as to whether to have the outfit in a darker peach or a lighter peach! Given that it had to be knitted, I was also impressed by the rapidity with which it was delivered. I have not actually seen the outfit myself, as I am out of the country, and thus got it delivered to a cousin of mine, who packaged it with some other baby stuff I had bought and then sent everything onwards to my intended recipient, a pregnant friend of mine. My cousin tells me that the quality of the material is very high, and that she thinks it is a lovely outfit. I particularly respect her opinion on questions of clothes, given that she runs a women's clothing shop. Her only concern with the item, which is designed for a newborn, is that (unless the baby has a relatively low birth weight) it might be too small. That said, while my cousin does have three children of her own, I would hope that Jean of Granny Knots, in being in a baby clothes making business, would be the better judge of baby clothes sizing, and so I am hopeful that the outfit will not be too small after all.Moreexpand_more
