Gordana's House of Sewing

Gordana very patiently helped me to adjust a bought pattern to fit my size. I now have a well fitted pattern from calico which will be very useful for all my future needs.

Gordana very kindly provided a lesson in my home, accommodating my young baby which was great. Prior to our session she was thorough in ensuring she understood my goals and came prepared and equipped to cover the specific items I hoped to master. During the session, Gordana was professional, encouraging and patient, which meant I learned at my own pace and in a way that was really fun and enjoyable. She passed on some great tips and advice and was able to demonstrate and make sense of what most books struggle to explain well. I finished the session feeling a sense if achievement and motivated to do so much more! A great introduction to the world of sewing, thanks Gordana!

Very friendly, encouraging and good teacher. Managed to teach myself and my friend very different things during the same session and we both left feeling like we had learned what we wanted and had plenty of time. She also came to our house which was brilliant as we both have small (4 month old) children. She was lovely with the kids too!

I was given a birthday voucher for Gordana's House of Sewing and used it recently - I had such a lovely morning! Gordana was incredibly friendly and has a great way of making you feel at home. She taught me how to make a skirt for my 7 yr old daughter. She taught me how to cut out the material using a pattern and then took me step by step though each process including pockets, waistbands etc. I came away having learnt new skills and feeling more confident. My daughter loves the skirt! I would definitely recommend Gordana's House of Sewing.

My sister and I had a great day with Gordana, learning to make a dress from scratch - the basic pattern, adjusting measurements, cutting fabric and putting it all together. Having had basic sewing skills I came away learning a huge amount and giving me the confidence on my own. My sister was a total novice and left there with an almost finished made-to-measure dress! Very impressive. Gordana is very welcoming, patient, thorough and is clearly very passionate about all things sewing. Highly recommended.

I had a lovely full day learning how to make eyelet curtains with Gordana. There were 3 of us. She has a perfect set up at her house for running small private groups. It was a lovely informal and relaxed day. She was very thorough and clear in her teaching and kept summarising and asking us questions which really helped me remember everything. She is also a perfectionist and made me unpick my work until it was right which is what you need for curtains. She did some really good handouts to help us remember everything when we want to make curtains ourselves. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and will definitely do. Another course with Gordana if I'm able to.

Myself and my daughter had a lovely afternoon making skirts with Gordana. She has a lovely bright room with lots of space for measuring cutting etc. The skirts we made were lovely and my daughter wore hers that night for a sleepover she was going to. I'm sure we will be back again.

Gordana worked with myself and a friend for a morning to help us to get to know our sewing machines. She was very patient and taught us well. By the end of the morning we had made two lovely skirts and went away feeling inspired to try other projects. We will book another morning with Gordana very soon and are really looking forward to it.

Spending the day at Gordana's House of Sewing was the highlight of my 8 year old daughter's half term! She had a brilliant time making her own cuddly bunny and gift bag for christmas and was so proud of her own creations! Thank you Gordana :). Emine Birant.

The last time I used a sewing machine was about 20 years ago. With little experience Gordana helped me make a cushion cover with a zip. She was patient and very friendly. I have gone on to make other cushion covers on my own. I am totally inspired! Highly recommended :-).

During half term, my daughter had daily activities; cinema, sports, museum, friends' house and Gordana's sewing class. When asked which day was her favourite, there was no hesitation: Gordana's class hands down! It was my daughter's second class with Gordana's and she can't wait to go again. She looooooves it (her words). If I had more time, I would also take a class. One day!

My 9 year old daughter absolutely loves to have sewing lessons at Gordana's House of Sewing. Every time she goes she comes back home very happy and proud of her work always producing beautiful pieces such as buntings, skirts and cushions! She can't wait for her next class!

My 7 years old daughter spent a day at Gordana's House of Sewing and had a great time! She came home happy and very proud of her cushion cover she sew herself. Gordana was very good and patient with the kids. My daughter explained to us step by step how to make a patchwork cushion cover and can't wait do have her next class. I am thinking of taking classes myself and I would recommend it to all my friends! Thank you Gordana for this fantastic opportunity!

I took part in a charity sewing workshop at Gordana's House of Sewing a few months back and was inspired. I enjoyed it so much, that I am now doing a clothes making course at SCOLA. I am making a skirt :).

I had wonderful time learning basic skill and almost finished my shoulder bag ♥. I can't wait for my next class and on going learning from her. She gave me a good confidence to start sewing and loved every minute of it. Will definitely recommend her and I will continue my learning with her.

My first sewing lesson for 38 years and Gordana with her friendly approach and patience gave me the confidence to make a cushion cover and the skills to sew a zip into it. Her sewing room is light and airy and gave a real sense of purpose. The 3hour workshop was tailored to my needs and I left the session with the confidence and enthusiasm to continue this hobby at home. Thank you so much.

I had a sewing lesson with Gordana and managed to make familiarise mysel with my one machine and then produce a tote bag and a large cushion with inegral zip. A fun, interesting and practical leaning experience at a reasonable cost with a brilliant teacher - Thank you.
