WELCOME TO GLOSSOP SINGING STUDIO.

Glossop Singing Studio is run by Claire Surman. As a professional singer and qualified teacher with over 25 years experience, Claire provides expert singing tuition for people of all ages and abilities in a fun and supportive teaching environment.

Whether a student is new to singing and wants to discover their voice, or is an experienced artist wanting to further develop their technique, Glossop Singing Studio will meet their requirements. Claire encourages a healthy approach to voice production. By working on breathing technique, supporting and placing the voice, Claire helps her students to develop a solid singing technique, freeing the voice and enabling it to develop naturally.

People have singing lessons at Glossop Singing Studio to:
- Discover their singing voice and/or improve their technique.
- Sing for fun - enjoy some vocal therapy for the soul; there's nothing like a good sing.
- Obtain qualifications - ABRSM, LCM Music Theatre, Trinity and Rockschool syllabuses taught.
- Prepare for competitions such as X Factor and Britain's Got Talent.
- Prepare for entrance auditions, for example for music conservatoires, drama schools, musical theatre and/or performing arts courses.
- Find out if they really are 'Tone Deaf' - Claire has never met anyone who couldn't find their voice with the right teaching.
- Work on specific performance issues.
- Sing many different styles of music, including opera, classical, musical theatre and pop.

Claire completed postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Music, achieving a PG Diploma in Advanced Performance (Opera) and a PG Diploma in Performance - both with distinction. Prior to that she graduated with a First Class Hons Degree in Music and Psychology and a Concurrent Certificate of Education from the University of Keele.

Glossop Singing Studio has a wide range of students. Claire has taught people from the age of 5 to 85; from individuals to groups of 60+ school children; those claiming to be 'tone-deaf' to those working as professional musicians.
