Having had water ingress issues which the main dealership had only partly diagnosed and then refused to take further, I was shocked when, during a recent downpour I had to stuff tissues between the roof and the windscreen to stop it raining inside the car! I contacted Glasstec and Paul addressed the problem skillfully and efficiently. He removed the windscreen, cleaned the area completely, bonded the windscreen and put it back. He was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Paul did a first class job and I have no hesitation in recommending him. It’s feels great driving in the rain now, knowing that the car is completely waterproof. .
I was already aware of Paul by reputation in the Porsche world before contacting him and I found that reputation to be entirely justified. From the outset the communication was clear and informative. In addition to replacing a cracked front screen, Paul was also able to refurbish and refit the rear screen so well it highlighted how poorly fitted the rear screen was previously. One of the other notable aspects of Paul’s work is the care and attention given. I felt like the car was in safe hands and he treated it as if it was his own. There’s plenty of stories on the internet about poorly fitted Porsche screens leading to squeaks and at worst accelerated scuttle rot. Choosing to commission Paul and his expertise is probably the best way to mitigate those risks.
Paul recently replaced the windscreen on my BMW M4. Following previous bad experiences, having to fight for OEM glass and a general lack of care exhibited from some of the well know insurer default options for windscreen replacement, combined with me being somewhat anally retentive about my car I wanted to find an expert. I had read and seen other examples of Paul's work and contacted him to do the job. Whole process extremely straightforward and work carried out to highest standards. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend his services.
Paul’s reputation for excellence precedes him – and having used his services for the first time, that reputation is totally deserved. Having been given some questionable (OK, outright wrong) advice by a well known national chain, I contacted Paul for a second opinion. My car is not the normal ‘exotica’ that Paul deals with, nor was it a big job (a few stone chip repairs), yet this didn’t change the quality of service I received - which was absolutely first class. Paul is immensely knowledgeable, technically skilled and a pleasure to deal with. His communication ahead of the job was top notch, he was able to visit me to do the job (I’m ~80miles away from him) and the work was undertaken quickly and to an exceedingly high standard. His attention to detail and professionalism is such, that not only did he undertake the new repairs that were required, he also identified and rectified previous repairs that were defective (at no additional charge). One very happy customer. .
Paul did a great job on my 993 front window. I had the horrid squeaky sound during the cold winter and it was so annoying. Having looked up on a few forums online I noted Paul's name came up a few times so figured he is the man for the job. Called to book in a day that suits and must say he was excellent. Communicated what was going on throughout the job and advised of any other issues that may need attending to later on in other areas of my 993. Seriously, if you have an issue with your windscreen then this is the go to man. Thanks Paul.
Paul has recently removed and replaced the front screen on my Porsche 993. He’s been great to deal with, very knowledgeable, approachable and he has routinely provided regular updates on progress. Removal of the screen almost certainly confirmed that the screen had previously been removed and replaced poorly. The replacement screen and seals will hopefully last for many years and will continue to be a testament to Paul’s work and attention to detail.
Paul removed all the glass from my 993 and then reinstalled as part of a major refurbishment of the car. At all times Paul was courteous, kept me informed of progress and displayed an extensive knowledge of the process. Because I am was keen to understand how glass is installed he agreed to me spending the day with him to watch the installation procedure and I can confirm that his quality of workmanship is tip top and his understanding of all the potential pit falls is second to none. The glass now compliments the concours standard paint work and I am more than happy to recommend Paul's services.
Paul at Glasstec did an amazing job on my 911 997 windscreen. Removed the damaged screen without any hiccups and the new one fits like a glove. I watched him do the work and he really takes pride in what he does, in every detail. I would 100 percent recommend Glasstec.
After 10 years and more than 50,000 miles, the windscreen on my Porsche 997 Carrera S needed to be renewed. On recommendations from web searches I contacted Glasstec for the correct genuine Porsche replacement windscreen, that I could be confident would also be fitted correctly. My Porsche's new windscreen looks absolutely perfect. It is a flawless job, and the work was very reasonably priced. And now it really is like driving new car: the old screen had years of tiny pockmarks on it and light wear from the wipers, the new one is completely clear. Having now seen for myself what's involved, I can guess how badly it could go wrong if not done 100% properly at every stage, by an expert who knows exactly what they're doing - that's how Glasstec/Paul comes across, by example of the work he actually does. If you care about your Porsche, and it needs a new windscreen or other glass, I would recommend Glasstec every time. All I can add is how much I really appreciate and respect Paul's professionalism and methodical approach, plus his friendliness and punctuality. Many thanks Glasstec!
I met up with Paul this week for him to repair a windscreen chip on my AC Ace (Brooklands) and for him to identify which manufacture’s parts bin was originally sourced for the windscreen trim. Paul didn’t let me down. The chip repair was first class and he easily identified the trim as being from a 1990’s Renault (something National Windscreens, Old School Windscreen Services and COH Baines hadn’t been able to do). Furthermore, I live in Kent - some 75 miles from Paul. He readily volunteered to meet me half way and carry out the repair at Lakeside Shopping Centre off the M25, yet still charged less than I’d been quoted locally. If you want confidence your windscreen replacement/repair is done by an expert I can wholeheartedly recommend Paul. .
Paul came recommend from some friends of mine, I had front and rear RS glass fitted to my 993. His knowledge and skills are exceptional! It was like watching an artisan work, he was above and beyond with his care and detail, super happy with the results and I can recommend him 100%. I will only ever use Glasstec from now on, cheers mate!
For owners of a Porsche 911/993 there is no better option for glass installation, than Glasstec Automotive. This car and installation method introduces certain nuances that your typical glass installer would not appreciate, resulting in dreaded fitment issues. However, Paul's vast experience with these cars ensures fitment will be perfect first time. A consummate professional from start to finish, Paul was able to advise appropriately at every step of the journey via prompt communication (telephone and email) followed by masterful installation. His extensive knowledge and attention to detail are exactly why owners of such cars will continue to opt for him and the preferred choice. Simply put, his reputation speaks for itself.
Paul replaced the windscreen on my 1995 Porsche 993. He was very professional, arrived on time and did a first class job, including dealing with some small rust patches. I had read on line how difficult this screen is to fit so felt Paul had made an excellent job all round. Recommended.
Paul recently replaced the windscreen on my V8 Vantage and did an excellent job at a very reasonable price. I was particularly impressed by his attention to detail, the pride he took in his work and capacity for dealing with any surprises (e. G. Corrosion) - just what you need for someone who's working on your "pride and joy". He took the best part of a day to install the new windscreen which attests to the infinite trouble he took. In summary, a hugely experienced technician and highly recommended.
Paul was great with communication and kept me updated each step of the way to booking the car in. The work was done very efficiently and he came to my place of work to carry out the glass replacement. He was very pleasant and proffesional to deal with. He came back to sort out a minor issue with the window rubber very quickly. I can't really comment on cost as it was a damage claim. Overall a great experience.
I paid for Paul's travel expenses to repair the windscreen of my R8 V10 in Bourne Lincolnshire. All I can say is it was money well spent and after reading from other reviews I knew I wouldn't be dissapointed. Absolutely first class service from start to finish and Paul is a perfectionist and knows his trade. I just wish there were more people like him. I would recommend him to anyone with total confidence and if I ever need a windscreen replacing again I know who I will be ringing. Once again thanks Paul for everything spot on mate. All the Best Steve.
Paul at Glasstec's service is exceptional. He takes great care to produce a first class result. He was able to come to my property to carry out the work, which saved me a great deal of time and effort. There may be cheaper options available, but you really do get what you pay for with Glasstec and I am totally happy to recommend. My insurance covered the replacement without quibbling apart from a small excess - so why take the risk going elsewhere?
Paul recently repaired my Porsche Cayenne windscreen of three chips (actually there was a fourth, more severe, chip that Paul spotted and I'd missed). He was thoroughly professional and the results were amazing. His experience and expertise was most apparent. He turned up when he said he would and charged a very fair price. Highly recommended!
