I wanted a stain glass fan light above the door of my Victorian terraced house. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but Claire was extremely helpful in showing and discussing various ideas with my daughter and myself. We felt she was very sensitive to our wishes and the end result is wonderful.
Claire came to see our broken door panel literally hours after I called her. I received an immediate quote by email and as soon as I instructed her, the work was undertaken immediately. The work didn't take long and we are absolutely delighted with the results. I would highly recommend using the Glass Designs and Gallery (as well as visiting the shop on North Street! )Thanks Claire.
I found Claire to be very professional, friendly and helpful when designing and installing my beautiful stained glass panel. Claire really captured what I wanted and I am thrilled with the end result. I would highly recommend Claire to anyone and will definitely use her again in the future.
I have now been attending the Stained Glass Course with Claire for over a year after I joined up as a New Years resolution in 2010. I joined with absolutely no prior experience in anything like this and just decided just to give it a go! I started off doing a beginners course which consisted of creating an A4 size window - this could either be from a template or your own design. I designed a hot air balloon scene and it took me about 6 weeks. I was taught all the essential skills such as glass cutting, leading, soldering etc and it was really gratifying to have something tangible at the end of it - my design is now hanging in my kitchen window! From there I have attempted various projects from bedside lampshades to children's mobiles, hanging artwork to Christmas decorations, picture frames to little glass bugs living in my window boxes. This involved learning further skills such as copper foiling and other soldering techniques. We have also tried fusing glass and we are attempting glass painting in the near future. We are able to do exactly what we would like in terms of design, and Claire will encourage and give technical advice to allow your mental pictures become reality. Claire herself has had many years experience in the field and creates beautiful glass art work, which we all aspire to! Claire herself is extremely welcoming and friendly, which instantly puts the whole class at ease. The classes are usually mixed ability, however Claire takes time out to help everyone, pitching her advice and comments at their level. The classes themselves are small and intimate(usually around 6-8 people) and I soon found that what had started as a creative hobby also became a social event where I can catch up with friends over glass, tea and biscuits.Stained Glass with Dadswell Glass is not all about windows. But a fun way to socialise whilst being creative and I would truly recommend it to anyone who fancies just giving it a go or developing 'stained glass' skills.Moreexpand_more
Claire's work is exceptional, it is of great beauty and quality, stylish and original designs, patterns, colours, shades and shapes. I have often bought Claire's gorgeous little ornaments at art fairs and been taken aback by her lamps, mirrors and panels. Claire's work is amazing and her friendly approach makes dealing with her a wonderful experience (rather than a business one) - I would recommend Claire anyday.
Claire of Dadswell Glass has made two stained glass panels for our hall door. I wanted to mix a contemporary design with a victorian feel to be in keeping with our house - she has designed lilies on the panels but with a traditional background with edging and blocks of colours (some even original victorian glass). She talked to me about exactly what I wanted, noted my personal taste and sent drawings and colours to ensure it was what I wanted before she began the designs. She kept me informed throughout the process and the panels have now been fitted. They are beyond my expectations of how I thought the door would look! The colours are beautiful and shed gorgeous light into the hall way. I would heartily recommend Dadswell Glass to anyone. Claire has made the entrance to my home go from nice to stunning.
Dadswell Glass designed our bathroom stain glass panel following similar stained glass in hallway door window and panel above. Claire personally came up with some great ideas and a beautifully composed panel that not only enhances the entrance to the bathroom, but is also in harmony with the existing pieces of stain glass in the house. The service has been timely and very professional. I would recommend Dadswell Glass to anybody.
Dadswell Glass restored and redesigned our original stained glass door window and panel above. The consultation was professional and friendly. The work was carried out in good time and the result was beautiful! The front of our house has been expertly returned to its former glory! I would whole heartedly recommend this company.
