One of the many definitions of Quality is the meeting of Customer requirements and exceeding their expectations. Well Gill Martinez certainly did that. The finished project is amazing. The owners are easy to do business with and their work is clean, tidy and efficient. What more could you ask. Top class.

I needed a cabinet to store all my photo gear, currently spread through drawers and boxes and help me keep it all tidy (and stop my wife telling me off for using the dining table as storage area between shoots). So I sent over some specifications and after a home consult we agreed on design and materials. The final cabinet is, simply, excellent work: great craftsmanship with top quality components - and the white American oak they recommended fits well with the other furniture in the room. When looking for a cabinet maker one of my key factors was someone who would use their experience to advise on the small details and they met that fully. Absolutely first class from start to finish. Claire and Gill were great to work with, they provided quotes, drawings when they said they would. The quality of their work is excellent and they problem solved to overcome the issue of one of our leds being in the wrong place! Couldn’t recommend them more to be totally honest. And most important … they’re very dog friendly .

A 'simple set of shelves' we thought, but what we received was an incredible piece of furniture made to an extremely high quality. The whole process from design to build was seamless and Claire and Gill are a pleasure to work with.

Gill built fitted cupboards on both sides of our fireplace. We are very pleased with the quality and finish and would highly recommend his craftsmanship. Actually the cupboards were better than I imagined they would be.

The car industry should benchmark itself against Gill’s panel gaps. Gill and Claire have designed, made and fitted a number of pieces throughout my house. The fit and finish are simply excellent. From the initial consultation to the down-to-the-millimetre measuring and then fitting, and on to the cleaning up after themselves, they have displayed outstanding professionalism. They also happen to be nice people with a warm, approachable style. I loved the notion of making the cost of materials the source of the deposit, thus locking in a fixed price in these inflationary times. You would expect work of this quality to attract a pipeline, and you will have to wait. The wait is worth it and they come highly recommended. .

Well what can I say, absolutely delighted with my beautiful bespoke media cabinet. I didn’t need to worry as the guidance, patience and quality of work from Claire and Gill was exceptional. Wow. Gill Martinez cabinets are something else. True craftsmanship. The quality is outstanding and the customer experience is the best we’ve had for many years. Gill and Clare communicated really well and were honest and transparent with pricing and timeline for installation. The actual installation was very well executed. They were in and out like two little elves leaving us with a wonderful set of cabinets in our dining room. Lovely people. We are about to put in another order for the bedroom! .

Gill and Claire have done a fantastic job on our cabinet. From the start their customer service was first class, responding to calls and emails quickly. Their consultation focused solely on helping us get exactly what we wanted, providing advice and asking questions to us that we hadn’t thought of. Installation was efficient, I think the carpet was cleaner than when they started. Final product is of such high quality. I’d highly recommend.

Claire and Gill were amazing from start to finish. They took the time to listen to exactly what we wanted and amended designs until it was perfect. They then installed the unit in one day. There is a saying you get what you pay for. You get more than that with Gill and Claire. Their attention to detail is second to none, the craftmanship is first class. You will not be disappointed with the workmanship. They are a lovely couple to work with.

Our requirement was for traditional alcove shelving units. We found Gill and Claire on the internet. Their reviews and accompanying pictures were excellent. From our first email we were treated very professionally and efficiently. We swapped details and a preliminary drawing followed in a day or so. We were given a quote and a very honest time frame of 12 months. A small deposit was requested. The wait was totally worth it. We changed our initial spec. With no hassle. We had the fitting visit where we met Gill and Claire for the first time. They were totally respectful of our home, taking their shoes off as they entered. They spent a good a mount of time helping us plan the work. Gill's brain sees things I had not anticipated and his desire for perfection was a joy. We then had a build day booked and the building work started. These guys work 7 days per week. They started on a Sunday and finished late on the Monday evening. It reminded me of the scene out of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, where Dick van Dyke is locked in his shed creating this phenomenal car. Late on Monday evening we were 'allowed' back in our front room, slightly shocked but totally delighted. I think we wanted to clap and cheer, but it was getting late. One could throw superlatives at Gill but I think he just wants to be seen as master craftsman, which he is. Claire provides phenomenal support and her communication skills are of the highest order. She does good drawings too. I'm not sure we've ever had work done on our house that has been so memorable, and an event in its own right. And to cap it all, they left the room spotless, absolutely clean as a whistle. I think we were a bit sad when they packed up and left, if only they had left their shoes off and and stayed to do another job. However, we are not greedy people, Gill and Claire are now free spirits ready for some other lucky person to book. We will place our next order (wardrobes) and join our place in the queue. OK, so they charge a few pennies more than flat pack furniture. But, as Claire said, these are 'for ever cabinets', and I believe they will be. The small dent in my bank account dwarfs in comparison to how our home has been enriched. This website said we must not describe their work as 'fantastic'. Gill and Claire built for us large scale bespoke book shelves/cabinets and also a bespoke built-in wooden unit tailored to accommodate our TV/DVD combined with a creative space for ornaments. Quality - extremely happy. They are true artisans in our view, fitting units and shelves around challenges such as uneven walls, uneven ceilings, skirting boards, cornices etc, such that the units looks tailor-made to our specific rooms. Service - extremely happy. The communication from them to keep us informed of consultation and implementation dates was faultless, and there was no creep in these dates at all. They were also extremely mindful of ensuring their workspace in our house was clean and tidy at the end of each day's work. Value - The Martinez's prices may strike as being a tad on the expensive side initially, but you pay for their prowess as bespoke design and build craftsmen, their experience on knowing what does and doesn't work, their flare in improvisation around challenges encountered, and the superb communication and management on delivering on time, hence the value is unquestionably excellent in our view. We would have no reservations at all in strongly recommending them to other interested parties.
