I have nothing but positive things to say about Gaudi and especially about Maisie. She has been doing my hair (I am of mixed heritage) for the last few months and is helping me get it in the best possible condition ahead of my wedding next year. Maisie is excellent at what she does and really easy to chat to which makes a long treatment appointment fly by.
Appointment for my 9yr old daughter of mixed heritage for hair conditioning and trim. Requested pricing. £65, I was told by the salon owner and I had to pay £32. 50 deposit upon booking the 2hrs appointment. Appointment, started later as they were running late. It was interrupted by the stylist stopping to give another client a consultation. After over 4hrs of brushing and pulling at my 9yrs old's hair, with no steam hairdryer treatment, the result was unimpressive. Stylist told me that they no time for trim due to other clients waiting for her service. , I was given a £134. 50 bill which included a trim in the description, a £9.50 upgrade fee that I was not consulted nor informed of, plus an added fee of £60 for extra styling. Guess you have to pay for extra two hours of having your child's hair brushed and pulled at etc with residual product left in the hair. Certainly shows care and excellent service! The explanation for £134.50 was that my daughters hair was difficult and it took longer than expected. £134.50 for the lack of transparency and dissatisfied service. To top it up my daughter had to hear the comment that she has difficult hair followed by a retracting comment that she has beautiful hair that takes a long time to do. I spend no longer than a couple of hours doing her hair at home. Plus I don't leave product smeared in her hair as it results in greasy matted hair. Don't gain experience on a child's hair as poor hairdressing experience will leave a lasting negative impact. I would happily have waited for a competent and experienced hairdresser had you been clear that the stylist isn't as experienced as you believe she is. I certainly did not leave with the belief in her competency in handling my child's mixed heritage hair. A competent hairdresser with the relevant experience would not take over four hours for a nine year old's hair and would not leaving excess residual product in the hair.Gaudi, be explicit and open about your cost. In such financial times don't spring additional unexpected added costs on clients at the end of the appointment. Don't add upgrade and service charges that varies from the appointment price booked that you haven't informed the customer of at any time during the appointment. You took away the decision from me to decide whether I wanted to pay such a price and spend most of the afternoon at the salon with a 9 having her hair brushed etc for the longest time in her life and 6 years old bored but patiently waiting for her sister's ordeal to be over. Gaudi the lack of transparency does not fill me with confidence to visit to your salon again. I shall avoid you at All Cost. To top it up, I had to undo some of the plait at home as it was tight on the scalp. What if I didn't have the money to pay the sprung upon additional charge? Is this what good customer satisfaction and great salon experience feels like? Gaudi hair salon Bristol would have had a different review had I been informed of the extra charges at any point during appointment and had the hairdresser done a good job. Allocate hairdressers with the capability and competency required for individual appointments and be open and honest about your pricing. I am sure you will win clients that way.Moreexpand_more
For a regular wash/cut/style, I can't complain with Gaudi. I have used them for a long time! I would however, never get a perm here again. The finished result was not at all what I had hoped for and the pictures we agreed on. I also got a chemical scalp burn on my forehead for several weeks after the treatment and my hair has fallen out/snapped in chunks so I have random patches of 1 inch hair across my head. I accept the risk was mine in getting a perm but I would never get one again. To add to my experience, we agreed a price prior to the treatment which was more than their quote on their website. Despite this, I agreed their higher price as I wanted a great result. During my treatment the manager (owner?) came over to tell me she should be charging me double what I am paying and made me feel guilty/awkward for the price we agreed. Very rude and unprofessional. For this alone, I'm afraid I wouldn't go back.Moreexpand_more
Another wonderful cut and colour by the amazing Catlin, she takes so much effort to get it right, listens to you and puts her heart into each haircut. She does the most wonderful head massage too. Can’t recommend enough. A few days later she cut my 17yr old sons hair and it’s the first time ever he has liked his hair cut. So pleased with her patience skill.
I had a haircut at Gaudi several weeks ago. Angie cut it. It needed a fresh look because I was struggling with styling the shape I had before. I was so impressed by the amount of time Angie spent discussing what I needed - a really helpful two-way discussion about my ideas on what I wanted and her expertise on how a new style would work. Then as she was drying it after the cut she gave me useful tips on how to style it and what products to use. I’ve been really pleased with the result - less hair so it’s quicker to dry and a shape that suits me better. I’m planning on going back in a couple of weeks to get my colour done.
I love going to this salon! It’s always a fun experience, they’re a great team and my hair is always gorgeous when I walk out. They have the time for you and make you feel comfortable. Maisey is a fantastic hairdresser who will listen to your requests but also help you make the right decisions for your hair type. I wouldn’t go to another salon now. Highly recommended!
I've have my hair done at Gaudi every couple of months. I've always have it relaxed, and usually with a semi permanent colour. I often book with the same stylist (Jasmine) but have has others do my hair when she isn't available. I have always been impressed with the service and love the friendly nature of the salon. I've had my hair done with Jasmine today, and once again I'm really happy with the result. Thank you Jas!
I got my hair coloured and cut by Leah and I love love loved the outcome! Leah included me every step of the way in deciding how dark I could go without roots being too much of an issue and encouraged me to go for something a little more exciting than just a trim, for which I'm really grateful! Both Leah and the salon are fab! I hope to be back soon!
Gaudi offered me the best hair treatment, and personal treatment, I've had in my entire life at a salon. I arrived a little nervous and left feeling like a new woman. My hair type was difficult for me to manage and Angela sat down and offered me her time to explain why this is, and how she will help me. It instantly put me at ease and gave me confidence to begin the process. The hair cut itself was absolutely the best I've ever had. She took into context my face shape, my hair type and offered me a listening ear, and a professional opinion. I put my trust in Angie and I did not regret it. What stood out for me was how you are treated as a person. These girls work really hard and they enjoy it, too. You can easily feel comfortable and cared for here because these girls understand their customers as people and friends. It really is an outstanding service and something I think these girls should be praised for every day. My hair feels like a part of me again, and I have Angie to thank!Moreexpand_more
Yesterday I had my hair blow dried and curled by syreeta. Normally hairdressers are scared of my hair because I have long thick hair. However syreeta was super confident, quick and did a great job with my hair. She was also very lovely too. Thank you love ami? .
I first went to Gaudi a year ago. I had natural mixed race virgin hair and wanted a complete colour change, I had a consultation with Sinead then went back a week later for my appointment. For the first time in my 30 years I left a salon with the confidence that we should all feel after a trip to the hairdressers, instead of running home to fix my hair myself. Well worth the 2 hour round trip I now make every few months!
I had my first visit to Gaudi Hair last week, I went for a haircut and I was absolutely blown away by Angie! She was really attentive in listening what I wanted and as I was not 100% sure what to do, she gave me a really good guidance. I was very happy with the result and wish I had discovered this salon earlier! I will definitely be back! :).
Wish I had changed salons before now! A reassuring consultation with Sinead ahead of my 1st appointment. The welcome restyle now allows me to enjoy hair down rather than putting it up all the time for an easy life. I really appreciated Sinead's keeness to share tips in how to manage it going forwards - a complete service AND a complimentary glass of wine! Looking good and loving the compliments.
