EICR very cheap - around £101 inc vat. But they will list many defects and their quote will be more than double - so basically it's a scam as they know customers will be reluctant to pay for EICR elsewhere a second time!

We had numerous electrical jobs that needed doing. First circuit were the quickest to respond to our request. From start to finish they were professional and committed to exceptional customer service. Tom and Millie carried out this work to a very high standard. No mess left. We required a light and socket fitting in our conservatory. Also had a light and socket fitted to our outside brick built shed. The weather was awful but they got the job done. I needed an electrician for some minor jobs, and found WIRE through 'Which Trusted Trader'. The electrician turned up on time in a smart uniform and was pleasant to deal with throughout. He carried out the work quickly, and cleaned up afterwards. The correspondance from the office was great. Although WIRE is a little more pricey than your average one-man-band, in my opinion, they're worth it.

After completing on a house purchase, a few weeks after moving in my stress levels were increased considerably when I was told the kitchen needed to be retwired. Mark and his team were brilliant however. The work was scheduled without delay and the work completed with the minimum of disruption. All in the team were polite and professional. Marek who was on site two days certainly knew his job and I was impressed with the quality of work completed. I cannot recommend Wire highly enough and will certainly make use of their services again. Indeed, further work is already scheduled.

After being let down by a number of companies both large and small, I finally made the right choice. I needed urgent work doing at my uncle's house. He has learning difficulties and so people turning up when they promise and being understand when they get there is vital. Wire were excellent. After being let down by numerous electricians, I decided to visit "Which? Trusted Traders” to find a local company who could install a new 30A circuit in my house. When I put in my postcode, I found that the closest who they recommended was “Wire”. Immediately I called and spoke to a lovely lady who knew exactly where my tiny village was and arranged for someone to visit me the next working day. The gentleman (Mark) arrived at the time agreed and turned out to be the owner. He was very friendly and professional and immediately set my mind at ease, going through what would be required to carry out the work in the correct manner, ensuring that current safety regulations were met. This was the first time an electrician had done this, which was a refreshing change. Later that day, as promised, I received a full breakdown at a competitive rate. I immediately confirmed that I would like Wire to go ahead with the work. A few days later, the engineer arrived at 0830 as promised. He was a lovely man by the name of Marek. Marek spent a short time familiarising himself with the work that he needed to do and then got straight to work. Throughout the day, Marek worked tirelessly, asking he occasional question, but most of the time I wasn’t aware he was even there. When he had to move any furniture, he did so carefully and cleaned the area thoroughly before putting it back again. My wife commented on how professional he was and that, unlike many tradesmen, she would be more than happy for him to be there alone with him. He was very professional and when he left that day, the house looked cleaner than when he first arrived!The next day, Marek arrived on time again and carried on working. He checked with me about where I wanted cables running and the next thing I knew, the work was done. Matthew, the head electrical tester, came and he too was very friendly and professional. It was obvious that he and Marek had a good rapport and in no time at all, he had signed off the work and the two of them were packing up and leaving. Without a shadow of a doubt, the quality of the work carried out by Wire was of the highest order. The components which were used were from known brands and at every opportunity, they exceeded my expectations. From working in the service industry, I know how important this is. We'd had a problem with our circuit-breaker in our home, and these guys were here within an hour of calling, and it fixed within half an hour. They even helped with some other little electrical worries I had and were reassuring throughout. Would highly recommend.

Wire Solar Limited carried out some work at my newly bought home in Woodthorpe, York. Mainly they changed my old fuse board to a new one which meet all the electrical regulations. They changed all my indoor lightings to Energy Saving category for saving my energy bill. From the right beginning Mark Wood was very initiative to visit the property number of times and gave us some guidance to meet our requirement. He was very friendly and can ask all the doubts. I had 4 quotes to install an electric box. Wire came the cheapest, the top quote being over 50% more! Shaun came on time, after quite a long drive from outside York to Ilkey. He put on a new pair of trainers in the house. I left him to it and he had finished by 1. 30 pm. He also fixed a short on the third floor and cleaned up after his work. Very impressed indeed!

I had my old storage heater removed as it had been condemned and the lads fitted a new one very promptly and at a very competitive price. Can't fault them.

It was necessary to replace my old Wylex fuse with an sensitive earth leakage box after an electrical fault on a steam iron caused a small fire in my house. After checking prices via the internet for this work. I emailed Wire Electricians (a company situated some 5 miles from my property) for a quotation. Had a quick response and an acceptable price so arranged for an inspection visit. Mark Wood (Director) responded promptly and inspected the work site agreeing a date for the work to be done. I asked for a further quote for installation of a phone socket in the room used for my computer. A price was agreed for both jobs to be done simultaneously. On the appointed day, an electrician and his apprentice presented themselves, at the time agreed, to do the work. I was very impressed with their enthusiasm and work rate. After completion of the fuse box installation, commissioning tests determined the earthing of the system did not comply with current legislation and it was deemed necessary for two new earth cables to be run from the new box, one to the incoming water supply pipe the other to the domestic fuel tank. The electrician informed me he had discussed the problem with Mark and an offer to do the work before they left was accepted. The additional price was based on the fact the tendered work had taken an hour less than envisaged and the charge to perform the new work was adjusted to reflect that saving even though additional material had to be sent from base to the job site before the work could be completed. This is the first time such a generous gesture has been made to me by a contractor. The final bill was acceptable and paid promptly. I am very impressed by the professional approach by both the company and its' employees and I would not hesitate to recommend Wire Electricians of Elvington to anyone needing the services of an excellent electrical contractor for domestic installation and repairs.Moreexpand_more
