Nolwenn’s online language lessons are very effective and thoroughly enjoyable. Nolwenn is an exceptionally dedicated French teacher, with a well-crafted methodology for successful online teaching. Each session is well thought out and the pupil's areas of weakness are dealt with fully. I found Nolwenn through an online search for a native French tutor for my son's IGCSE. She tutored him weekly for a whole year, and applied a systematic approach that ensured that my son was able to grow massively in his understanding and in his confidence in the use of the language. Together with this, she provided excellent tactical advice for exam preparation. The result was extremely pleasing - my son exceeded his school's expectations and went on to achieve a high A* in his IGCSE French exam.

I started learning French with Nolwenn from the age of 8 and I continued my sessions with her all the way to my GCSEs and A-levels. It was a fun and memorable experience. Thanks to Nolwenn’s consistent support I achieved high grades in my French exams. She is a patient and motivating teacher who was genuinely concerned about my progress and would always ensure I was given enough attention. I came to Nolwenn as an adult learner who, not having tried particularly hard with my French at school, now want to improve my French for pleasure. Nolwenn has a lovely relaxed manor in her telephone lessons which put me at my ease almost immediately. She is very encouraging and supportive and also has a way of making the lessons fun. In addition, she is excellent at identifying areas which I need to work on and preparing little exercises centered around those areas which she emails me in advance of our lessons. Her service is excellent and very professional.

I have been having lessons with Nolwenn for 4 years now and can not recommend her lessons more highly. Initially I took lessons for 30 mins and gradually up to an hour. Skype lessons have been really convenient as I can continue my lessons wherever I am, but more importantly for me they enable me to feel uninhibited using only the voice and text options. Her lessons couldn't be made more personal. She really gets to know her students and quickly puts me at ease. Nolwenn understands how I think/best learn and tailors the lessons so that I get the most from them. She also makes notes with new vocabulary and practice exercises that are emailed to me straight after the lesson and corrected before the next lesson. I am now living in France and confident conversing with friends and in a professional situation thanks to Nolwenn.

My daughter, now at Exeter University reading French, and my son, now in Year 13, each started with Nolwenn when they entered Year 7. Between them, they have 14 years of experience with Nolwen. I think that in itself is sufficient recommendation! However, I should add that more than one of my daughter's university tutors have remarked on the quality of her accent, and she has received excellent all-round marks for her French language. My son recently received his AS results, and his highets marks were for French.

I have been working with Nolwenn for several years to maintain and improve my French. I was dubious at first about distance learning but it works. Nolwenn has an easy manner and we have engaging conversations – an hour can go quickly as we share views and news on a variety of topics. It is easy to forget that it is a lesson – in good way. She does always remember improvements with corrections and exercises to address blind spots. She is good at taking notes and ensuring we go over in following weeks any grammar, vocabulary or pronunciation that have been less than perfect, so that weaknesses are ironed out. I also arranged for my daughter to work with Nolwenn to help with her French at school, which she did. It’s a fun and effective way to learn French.

Having been taught by Nolwenn through Skype for a total of four years now, I cannot stress just how amazing these skype lessons are. I was at first, as many other students I presume also are, a bit hesitant to try this method of teaching. I had previously been taught by tutors face-to-face and interacting with a tutor over Skype seemed like a strange concept to me. However, I can honestly say, after all these years with Nolwenn, our Skype lessons turned out to be far better than any face-to-face interactions I have ever had with other tutors. I first started with Nolwenn when I was 15, at the beginning of my GCSE's, at a point where my french was very weak. As a good tutor should, she instantly spotted my weaknesses and strengths, helping me to build on both during my 45 minute lessons in a way that I found neither patronising or stressful. The lessons were extremely organised and Nolwenn would always send me the documents I needed for the upcoming lesson hours in advance. I saw myself progress extremely quickly and went from being a mediocre french student at the beginning of my GCSEs to receiving an A* at the end of Year 11. It was because of Nolwenn's way of teaching and this brilliant skype method that I decided to continue learning french at A level standard. It was a great feeling entering my french class at school and being that one step ahead all because of Nolwenn's lessons. May I also add, that although I cannot praise Nolwenn's teaching abilities enough, I wish to acknowledge her as a person even more as it was her kind and patient nature, alongside the Skype calls, that made me enjoy every one of these lessons. I found that being on the other end of a skype call and not being able to see my tutor's face, was far less patronising and nerve-racking and I was less afraid to make mistakes. Now, having finished my French A Level and having received an A Grade, I can honestly admit that I am sad to leave Nolwenn and these lessons behind as I embark on my journey at university. Without Nolwenn and these lessons, my successes in my study of the french language would not have been possible - I cannot recommend Nolwenn enough!Moreexpand_more
