I never meet in my life a poor company like this. Rude and unprofessional staff, no support for customers, unfair when is taking delivery day and thief’s when I taking about price. I call every day and ask them when my iMac is ready(I sign with them on 19. 02. 2020, after that on 23. I receive evaluation 295£ need change screen)J accept to pay this money and ask when is ready(they say 7 day) and I leave my computer there. Today I was on the location of this unprofessional people and they tald me in a rude and aggressive way to take my computer back (after waiting 14 day to fix my iMac. Sad but true in 2021. Please much you can don’t waste you time, many and healthy with this cowboys.
Having read rave reviews for this company, I requested a quote to repair a water damaged Macbook air. Their response was swift and positive with a reasonable quote of £200-£300. On receipt of laptop, a revised quote came back of £500-700 and so was deemed "beyond economic repair". I asked for the computer to be sent back to find that it had been dropped on its corner (picture attached), so not only do I have a water damaged machine, but one that has been dropped by the repairer - not surprising the quote was so high. FixMyBrokenMac denied any responsibility (even though the computer has been in a protective case since new). After asking for advice on where I can get the logic board repaired myself - I have received no response whatsoever. I now have a computer in a worse state than when it was sent to them. Avoid.
Having attempted to install a SSD into my late 2013 iMac and failed miserably, resulting in a non-working iMac. I searched and found 'Fix my Broken Mac'. I immediately contacted them and found them to be extremely helpful and within minutes I had arranged for my iMac to be collected and repaired, including the installation of my own SSD. During the time it was away, less than a week I contacted the company and my calls were answered immediately; no hanging on listening to 'music'. On completion I was informed when it was to be delivered and the delivery as was the collection was carried out by an extremely pleasant and efficient person. My iMac had a few marks along the base of the machine and these had also been removed leaving the machine looking like new. The iMac is now performing like a new one and I have no hesitation in recommending this company if you have need for a repair.
I’ve always had great service from Fixmybrokenmac. A couple of weeks ago my wife’s iMac died. I suspected a hard drive failure. I completed the online form, and received a response the same afternoon, promising a further email the following day - Saturday- with collection details. The machine was collected on Monday afternoon, diagnosed Tuesday, fixed Wednesday, and returned on Thursday before lunch. It had been cleaned and serviced, fitted with an SSD, and loaded with the Mac OS. This 10 year old machine is better and far quicker than when I bought it. An hour reloading software and restoring backed up files and we’re done. I can not recommend this company highly enough.
Took in a Macbook with broken screen and iMac that continually rebooted. Macbook screen was changed quickly with no issues but the iMac being rather old took a couple of attempts to clear the corruption, also found to be a faulty HDD. The guys got to the root of the problem and swapped the HDD for SDD, (with much faster performance) The guys did really well even providing remote, online support. Great, friendly, laid-back service !
Very trust worthy and flexible business. They gave me all the options available to fix my macbook but in the end it made more sense for me to sell for parts to the company in which they gave me a reasonable sale and waivered the delivery. Would definately recommend!
We all know how Apple operate and the costs and time involved - So finding an alternate solution is very difficult - We as a printers cant have our Macs down for long periods of time. We have used a few repair company's over the years, always over priced and I think honestly we were not given the correct solutions for the breakdowns - The guys had my mac on a Monday and I had it back on a Wednesday morning. Very quickly diagnosed my flashing screen, a new SSD required. I loved the idea of that, SSD's can make any computer work so much faster. Everything was done via a portal, so quick and easy to use. My mac now is like a brand new machine. We have quite a few apple macs in our company, I'm confident in Will and the Team to fix our further problems going forward - A big thank you to the team for fixing my Mac. Paul Tibbetts - Studio Manager - Nec Graph-fix.
Normally use Apple store for everything but was rather annoyed with them over the amount of money they wanted to replace a mother board on a two year old Mac book. Found Mac assist online and received my quote and Boole my collection. Thoroughly professional service with excellent contact through the process. Highly recommend these guys as they replaced the motherboard and returned Mac very promptly and for a lot less than the Apple store were charging.
First time for me outside of the Apple Shop emporium, my 2012 iMac was showing all the signs of a hard disk issue. I probed about 3 companies and MacAssist were the only one to say - 'lets run a diagnostic first' before we swop for a SSD. I was made really welcome and went for a coffee while my sick mac was diagnosed (a new drive was necessary). I was offered an express repair which meant I didn't have to make a special trip back to The Custard Factory. I could not believe the difference the SSD has made- it's like new. Had a very small issue with Time Machine and a quick call resolved that - should have recognised the issue and done it myself. No problem for the staff. Cannot recommend these guys enough.
Fantastic service from these guys, and a very happy experience I had a major issue with my Macbook pro and as expected Apple did not want to know. MacAssist to the rescue, they where constantly keeping me informed of progress or issues and. Made the whole repair process easy and reassuring a superb service from a company with people who actually care. 10 out of 10.
The service I received was excellent. My 'vintage' iMac had been written off by Apple. I emailed the company with my query and within an hour had a reply from Jon, who was both knowledgeable and professional. The repair took less than a week and the communication throughout from the company was a really nice touch providing a very personal approach. The price quoted was the final amount with no surprises or added extras. I really would, without hesitation recommend this company. My iMac works perfectly now. Many thanks.
After the initial consultation, the whole repair service was extremely efficient and handled seamlessly. After visiting the official retailer previously I was amazed at the price that I was quoted for the same job, and the service was quicker. On top of repairing the Macbook I was assisted with advice and a company recommendation for data recovery of the damaged hard drive. I think this exemplifies the extra mile that the company go to ensuring that your needs are met or exceeded. I would have no hesitation in recommending the service to friends and family.
I stupidly cracked my MacBook screen and needed a repair. I initially tried Apple, but they weren't very much help - being over the festive period it was nigh on impossible to get an appointment within 200 miles of me, and they weren't even able to give me an estimate for the repair which was lower than I had expected. Within 30 seconds of calling MacAssist, I had an estimated price and subsequently arranged to have my Mac collected by courier. The courier arrived on the agreed day, and my problem diagnosed within 24 hours. The work took a bit longer, and was delayed due to a problem with the original replacement part, but I was kept up to date throughout using their simple but effective web based communication tool. As soon as the repair was completed and paid for (at the same price as the estimate), my Mac was dispatched and back with me just over 24 hours later. The company use DPD couriers; I received minimal notice of the product's collection (less than an hour), but arranging return delivery was very easy. The repair is of excellent quality, and exactly what I would have expected from Apple themselves. I would not hesitate to use MacAssist in the future - excellent service, transparent pricing, easier than the Apple store and a high standard of repair. Highly recommended.Moreexpand_more
I am really pleased that many of the reviewers on here had a great experience with MacAssist. Mine has been a bit different, but judge for yourselves. Like many Apple customers I was unfortunate enough to buy a 27inch iMac fitted with a badly designed graphics card a few years ago. It died after a couple of years. They were eventually recalled by Apple about the same time that mine packed up. Apple repaired it by replacing the dead one with a new one that was exactly the same model and had the same inherent fault. Yes, you guessed, that one packed up too in February this year and after the warranty had expired. So, I hunted around and found MacAssist in Birmingham. They sent a box, the Mac went off, the GPU got repaired and it came back. Great. I was so pleased I purchased a 3 year 'Total Care' package from MacAssist. Unfortunately, this September the GPU died again after being repaired in February. Off it went again and arrived at MacAssist on the 14th September. On the 21st I had heard nothing and contacted MacAssist who advised me that they had been an Engineer short and that the Mac hadn't even been diagnosed then. Nothing by the 27th other than it was 'on the Engineer's desk as we speak'. 29th – Invoice received after twice advising MacAssist that I had Total Care package. They advised me that the GPU had been faulty (again) and it it had been repaired (again). Fine. I got the Mac back on October 3rd. The GPU still didn't work properly, there were circular marks and a residue on the screen there was visible dust inside the screen, the machine was covered in dust and the case had not been fitted properly. It went back again and was received by MacAssist on the 11th October. Now you would think that given the circumstances the Mac may have been given priority? Not so. Nothing heard by the 24th October, MacAssist contacted – GPU beyond repair and they were waiting to 'Source' another one to test the mother board with it. I'm not sure what that means, couldn't they just replace it?Tuesday 1st November - still nothing at all from MacAssist so I contacted them again as they don't seem big on communicating with customers. The Senior Engineer (who was going to do the testing) was on holiday and it would be sorted out the following Monday when he returned. Well, there you go. It's now Thursday 10th November and what has happened? Nothing. Nada. No communication or anything else, certainly no repair Mac. You can decide whether or not to use MacAssist. You may have a long wait if you do.Moreexpand_more
