Fireplaces and Heating Direct Limited

Fitted a Dean stove for my parents. Clear, helpful advice followed by excellent workmanship.

We have just had an inset log burner installed by Fireplaces and Heating Ltd. We would highly recommend them to family and friends. The work was carried out to a very high standard, they left no mess and the Stovax log burner they recommended looks great and gives off lots of heat. Thank you Kieran and the team.

I've been trying to deal with this company who have installed my tiger stoves and liners in a house I've just bought and found their customer service shockingly bad. I booked an appointment for Kieran to come out to check my liners as I had trouble starting a fire in one and both had previously never been used, as they have a 10 year gauruntee on them I asked for the company to come out and check the liners. They were very shifty about confirming a time with me. It came to appointment day when I was expecting him before 11am, come 2pm still no sign I called the office and was told he would turn up if he wanted to because he was the boss and they couldn't gauruntee if he'd come out or not. He then called later on to say he wasn't going to come unless I paid him and tried to claim there was no gauruntees on the liners. Little did he know I had the paperwork from himself passed to me from the seller of the house. He then implied I was lying when I said the stoves were brand new and that we must have done something to them. He asked me to send pictures which I did and when I asked when he'd get back to me he said he didn't know "it isn't urgent is it". I never heard from him and tried to contact a couple of weeks later after having to get another company to check them. Again I was accused of lying about the stoves being new and told he'd call me back which he didn't even though I could here him in the background asking if it was another customer. We asked fireplaces and heating direct to quote to install our wood burner. They duly came round for the inspection, charged us £30. 00, left and that was the last we heard. We emailed them and got no reply so went to their showroom where we were assured every thing was fine and they would contact us. They even showed us they choices of surrounds we could have. Still no contact from them. Since we paid them the £30. 00 we have had no emails or phone calls from them at all. We have wasted about 8 weeks now. Very quick and friendly job was completed within 6 hours so very happy.

We asked for an old gas heater and brick surround in the lounge to be removed and replaced with a multi-fuel burner. In addition we needed a new radiator in our hall and a new water pump in our hot water system. The survey was efficient and non-fussy, and the price competitive. Mr Whelan and his team subsequently carried out the work to an excellent standard. They have been helpful and courteous at all stages, and after-sales contact and advice have also been extremely good. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in putting further work their way, or in recommending this company to any prospective customer.

Stove with back boiler fitted and rad valves up dated in Aug 2011 no hetas certificate issued had to have thermostat on boiler adjusted to stop over burn as i could not get any after sales service (telephone calls and e-mail not returned)UPDATE have been contacted by Keiran offering free service and an apology which i accept.

We have just had a fire and surround installed. Kieran and especially Kate could not have been more helpful when we had a problem with the surround colour due to colour variations in the brochure, Kieran offered to take back the surround and replace it, even though it was not his fault. Satisfactory customers and would recommend to our friends.

We asked Kieran to visit us and provide a quotation and any ideas as to the replacement of our boiler. The Quotation was good and we liked Kieran immediately. Subsequently we ordered the boiler from Fireplaces and Heating Direct Ltd. The fitting service was excellent. When I came home in the evening I really thought they had not been there! Everywhere was clean and tidy as I had left it apart from our new boiler hanging nicely on the wall. I would warmly recommend you consider Mr Whelans company. The service was great, the install flawless and we loved the simple down to earth way Kieran explained our options in a way we could understand.
