Features Improvements

AVOID A job which we were told would take 7 to 10 days took over 6 weeks. We agreed a instalment plan for the work (dont pay up front) he never kept to it. Always wanting extra payments quoting these are hard times. From week one would just not turn up (no calls as to why) on random days. Gone by 3 everyday even though website says till 8. Dean and Andy are his only saving grace great workers. Strangely used his own bank account not a company one which resulted in our account being frozen by the bank fraud team which he then blamed on us. I have requested receipts wich has been refused very strange when told our bank would only allow allow final payment over 3 days he then became threatening and abusive to my wife.

We had two sheds removed from the bottom of the garden, the old slabs and concrete base removed too. This was to make a new larger insulated concrete base for a home office to be built on. The perimeter being slabbed to finish off. The guys turned up and worked hard, this was in January when the ground was not the easiest to work with or the weather reliable. Everything had to come through the house as we have no rear access. The guys did their best to protect indoor surfaces and clean up at the end of the day. Unfortunately there are some issues, some which can't now be resolved and some I'm waiting to have rectified hence I sadly can't give 5 stars. But if I was rating on only the teams personalities and working effort I would give 5 stars. I will still ask them to quote for further works. A further update to my review above, sadly it seems that the 10 year guarantee to come back and fix anything isn't as good as it sounds. Despite several messages there seems to be a distinct lack of effort to arrange to come and fix some outstanding issues. It would appear they are happy for me to have to pay another contractor to fix their work. It's very disappointing that their after sales care doesn't match their pre sale promises. It has shaken my confidence in other trades. The old saying "if it sounds too good to be true."may be appropriate.Moreexpand_more

We recently had a large raised area in our front garden lowered, gravelled and landscaped make it a more usable space. The guys at Feature Improvements did a great job and finished ahead of time. The team are punctual, professional and hard working. I would certainly recommend them to anyone.

Ricky and his team recently installed 2 separate patios in my garden. After agreeing the price Ricky was happy to take me round to one of his previous customers to show off the quality of his work. From the first day, they arrived on time and worked full days to get the job done on time. With access only available through the house, great care was taken and no damage was caused. Ricky even agreed to fit a few fence panels as a "good will gesture". I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again. Thanks Ricky and the gang.

Ricky and his team recently transformed our old drab patio into a bright area with new porcelain tiles. In addition, he redesigned our existing step onto the lawn and created a new one using wooded sleepers. The guys were, punctual, friendly and hard working. They even came back days later to help lift the hot tub back in situ.

Not good to treat a OAP I have to employ 2 tradesmen to put things right.

5* workmanship and evident experience. Had a new tarmac and blockpaved drive with flower bed. Took 5 days, were thorough and organised. I was contacted quickly and given sound advice by Ricky. I would recommend without hesitation for your drives patios and outside jobs.

The team worked tirelessly, professionally and tidily and cleared everything away. They erected a new fence for us and we are very pleased. Thank you all at features improvements.

Job was completed as agreed albeit it was under quoted to start with, however despite numerous phone calls and messages to the company and Ricky they will not give a receipt for the works nor a guarantee. Very disappointed.

COPING STONES - As the old saying goes you buy cheap you buy twice. Initially, I got someone round to tidy up the rear of the garden, remove plants, weeds, etc. And put down wood chippings over membrane to make the area maintenance free. About 30 old coping stones were to be removed and replaced with new ones. What a disaster - the membrane was poor quality, the wood chippings were cheap bark and limited quantity so the membrane was visible, and the guy turned up with less than half the coping stones required. The only thing done right was the removal of old plants and weeds, and old coping stones. The guy said he'd come back to finish the job off. Unfortunately, I paid him in full and after many attempts to contact him he didn't answer any calls or messages so I basically gave up. Ricky from Features Improvements came round to look at the job and we both knew it wasn't a big job, however, Ricky kindly advised what to do and that he would help put things right. I sourced 30 new coping stones myself through Wickes and got them delivered. Ricky sorted the remaining materials including one tonne of Cotswold stones to put over new quality membrane instead of wood chippings. Ricky and a colleague turned up on time and completed the job in less than a day and removed all the old bark, old membrane and old coping stones. Really pleased with the quality job, professionalism, polite conduct of Ricky and his colleague and the overall price. We were finding it hard to get someone to relay, clean, resand and seal our block paved driveway. Then someone recommended Ricky. He came and gave us a very reasonable quote. He arrived on time and it soon became obvious there was a little more work than we thought. The work was carried out to the highest of standards, with very little mess. The guys were professional and polite. Ricky obviously has a great pride and dedication to his trade. We did offer Ricky extra money for the extra work but he refused. Really pleased with work carried out in our rear garden. The block paving looks great. The lads are friendly polite and hard working. Would definitely recommend.

Kindly like to thank Ricky and his team for re-slabbing my little triangle garden, which was difficult to access and in torrential rain used to gather a lot water in certain areas. These guys came out on my 1st call and completed the job in just five working days.

Ricky and his men re-laid our back garden after badgers had attacked it. A top notch job completed quickly and efficiently, as well as this he also provide a sprinkler so my elderly mother could water the garden, and he repaired the damaged fence that caused the problem in the first place. Excellent work.

Ricky and his Team really transformed our front garden into a beautiful tarmac/blockpaved driveway. We wasn’t sure what we wanted at first but the ideas he came up with was perfect. We have had so many comments from friends and neighbours who were very impressed with what they have done. Lovely fencing and large step to front door gave it a nice finish. Hard working, friendly guys, nothing is too much trouble.
