I had this company replace my broken HP laptop screen, costing a whopping £315 (touch screen). Upon delivery the new screen had a stuck pixel and my touch pen did not work. It turned out the screen fitted was the incorrect one and did not contatin a digitizer. I was told the one with the digitizer was essentially too expensive and/or not available and the stuck pixel was within the manufacturers specifications. I was told 'my expectations were too high' when stating I have paid £315 and got a faulty screen with a stuck pixel and my pen no longer works. At every turn they tried to blame me for the problems. "You did not tell us you used a pen". "You did not give us your password so we could not test the screen". Shouldn't an IT company replace the part with the correct part using the part numbers? Can they not turn the screen on and boot up the laptop and NOT login and still see the stuck pixel? Of course they could. I had to continually call this company to chase for resolution. They clearly had little intention of doing so. When I asked why took over 3 weeks and hadn't called me they said they were 'too busy'. Is that good customer service?I was offered 10% refund as compensation, which I refused. Instead I leave a review letting others know how this company treats customers when things go wrong. May be great when everything works, but the true mark of a company is how they resolve things when it goes wrong. I would not recommend this company, I feel I was ripped off and they didn't care as they had my money. What they fitted is available as a part for £120-£150 on EBay. I have paid £315 and got a cheap faulty screen.Moreexpand_more
Our four month old laptop kept refusing to link to the Internet, unsure if the problem was due to our home Wi-FI, an Anit-Virus programme or just wrong programme settings, we dropped in to FAST Northampton for professional advice. We were served by Peter Ravi, who spent some time thoroughly checking the computer (without invalidating the warranty) and he diagnosed an intermittent faulty Wi-FI / Ethernet adaptor. Although spending almost an hour, Mr Ravi did not charge us. We returned to Argos explaining Fast's diagnosis and they replaced our laptop with a new one! Our sincere thanks to Peter Ravi and Fast Computers for a very successful outcome.
I know nothing about computers except to say I knew mine needed surgery! I had lost Windows Live Mail and things elsewhere were going very slowly. I have previously tried a number of local repair people but was not happy about any of them. I found Fast Computer via the web. The computer was picked up from their Newport Pagnell collection point. It was returned two days later by Peter on his way home at 8. 30pm. He knew there might be some problems still and had set up so that it could be fixed the following morning by remote. It was. Two days after I got a call from FC to check all was well. It is now going fine. I don't know how many hours it all took but the service and follow up have been great and the cost very reasonable. I will definitely use FC again and would recommend them to anyone.Moreexpand_more
Always had my Pc health checked since it was bought new from fast computers. Always helpful and very polite with any queeries I ask. Good professional company and reccomended in every way. Thanks for the great service you have given me.
Corrected the Windows 8 I foolishly put on the laptop and found that I couldn't access any emails. Having got rid of all the bells and whistles it now works just like Windows 7, the second time around. Could not believe it. I have used these people for a good number of years and never found them other than friendly and very helpful and that's not because the work done was provided free.
I contacted FastComputers because they had a good reputation. I needed my laptop checked out because it kept having blue screens. Not only is it repaired but it is faster than before. We've had it back over 4 weeks and it is working great, a real help as I am finishing my Open University degree and rely on it. I would have no hesitation in recommending FastComputers or using them again. Thanks!
I bought my computer in for its free 6 month review. The check was done and I was advised that if I wanted to make the computer go faster I could have some extra memory installed. I chose not to do this on this occasion and that was fine: there was no hard sell put on me and no charge made. The staff were courteous and helpful at all times, as they have always been throughout the 8 or so years that I have been dealing with the company.
My brother who is long standing customer, recommended me to bring my system to FastComputers, all the way from London. Brought it on Monday and as promised the computer was ready for collection on Thursday. The system which was 8 years old, and going slow, went through the service here , and Peter advised me on many other alternative options also. At present my system is operating better then before, but I am weighing up the possibility of upgrading or changing the system. My brither was right in saying, here you get personal service, it is not like big production line, not just customer friendly but also the human value accorded is a very welcome change from some unmotivated, unsmiling, bored shop staff. Thank You Fast Computers, IT WAS WORTH COMING TO YOU. KEEP UP THE GOOD AND I WILL BE IN TOUCH IN FUTURE AGAIN. Mukesh Shah, Edgware, London.
