Essex Dog Academy, established in 2008, offers dog training and behavioural consultancy to clients throughout Essex and Suffolk.
Obedience training classes for puppies, juniors and adult dogs of all ages, Essex Dog Academy aims to promote good dog behaviour that is a pleasure to the owner and everyone who comes into contact with their dog.
Classes focus on socialisation with dogs and people, basic commands for beginners and more advanced work for mature dogs and experienced owners. The atmosphere is relaxed and many lasting friendships have been formed as a result of joining Essex Dog Academy.

Sue Gilmore has many years of experience as an instructor and dog trainer, as well as having competed with her dogs at agility and obedience.
Sue is also an Expert Witness (Dangerous Dogs Act, 1991) and her work takes her to clients' homes to remedy unwanted behaviours in dogs of all breeds and ages. She also assesses dogs for fostering agencies.

As a Member of Council at the Pet Education Training and Behaviour Council, Sue has been instrumental in formulating a proposal recently submitted to the government, devolved administrations within the UK and interested parties to reform legislation following the recent addition of XL Bullies to the banned list of dogs.
