About ESI: Fire Safety

ESI: Fire Safety helps businesses, landlords, property managers and responsible persons make sense of their fire safety duties and take practical steps to protect their people, premises and organisation.

Whether you need a fire risk assessment, fire strategy, DSEAR risk assessment, fire safety training, fire extinguisher servicing, fire door support or general fire safety consultancy, we provide clear, practical advice without unnecessary jargon.

With over 20 years in business, ESI is led by professionally qualified fire safety consultant Jamie Morgan MIET MIFSM, who is third-party assessed and listed on the National Fire Risk Assessors Register. This helps give clients confidence that their fire safety advice is coming from a suitably competent and experienced professional.

We work with offices, shops, industrial premises, places of worship, holiday accommodation, bars, restaurants, entertainment venues and other commercial properties across Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire and the wider South of England.

If you are unsure what you need, or simply want to check whether your current fire safety arrangements are suitable, please get in touch. We will be happy to talk through your premises, your responsibilities and the most appropriate next steps.

Fire Risk Assessments.

A suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment is the starting point for managing fire safety properly in your premises. It helps you understand the risks within your building, what is already in place, what may be missing, and what practical steps are needed to protect people and comply with your legal duties.

ESI: Fire Safety provides professional fire risk assessments for a wide range of premises, including offices, shops, industrial units, places of worship, holiday accommodation, bars, restaurants and other commercial buildings.

Our assessments consider key areas such as means of escape, fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire doors, extinguishers, signage, electrical risks, housekeeping, staff training, maintenance records and fire safety management arrangements.

Following the visit, you will receive a clear report and action plan, written in plain English, so you can understand the findings and prioritise what needs to be done. The aim is not just to produce a document, but to give you practical, proportionate advice that helps you manage fire safety with confidence.

Fire Strategy Plans.

A fire strategy plan explains how fire safety is intended to work within a building, bringing together the key design, construction and management measures that help protect people and property.

ESI: Fire Safety prepares fire strategy plans for both existing buildings and new buildings, including refurbishments, fit-outs, changes of use and projects where clearer fire safety information is needed for planning, building control or ongoing management.

Our fire strategy work can consider areas such as means of escape, occupancy, compartmentation, fire doors, fire detection and alarm systems, emergency lighting, smoke ventilation, firefighting access, fire service facilities, building use and management arrangements.

For existing buildings, a fire strategy can help identify how the building currently performs and where improvements may be needed. For new buildings or proposed works, it helps set out the intended approach so that fire safety is considered properly from the start.

The aim is to provide clear, practical fire strategy information that supports compliance, helps inform design decisions and gives duty holders a better understanding of how fire safety should be managed throughout the life of the building.

Fire Extinguishers.

The right fire extinguishers need to be provided, correctly located, clearly signed and properly maintained so they are ready to use in an emergency.

ESI: Fire Safety provides fire extinguisher surveys, supply, installation and servicing for businesses, landlords and property managers, helping ensure your premises have suitable extinguisher provision for the risks present.

Our surveys look at the type, number, location, condition and suitability of your extinguishers, along with signage, access and maintenance requirements.

We can supply and commission new extinguishers where needed, service existing equipment and provide practical advice to help you keep your fire safety arrangements properly managed and documented.

Fire Safety Training.

Fire safety training helps your staff understand their responsibilities, recognise fire risks and know what to do in an emergency.

ESI: Fire Safety provides practical fire safety training for businesses and organisations, including fire safety awareness, fire marshal and fire warden training tailored to your premises and the risks within your workplace.

Training can cover key areas such as fire safety law, common causes of fire, emergency procedures, evacuation arrangements, extinguisher awareness, fire doors, housekeeping, alarm systems and the role of staff in preventing fires.

The aim is to make fire safety clear, practical and relevant, so your team feel more confident and your organisation is better prepared.
