About Edinburgh Maths Tuition
Dr Jackie Cohen is a Mathematics tutor based in Edinburgh. She is an experienced Mathematics teacher with a Doctorate in Mathematics and she is a qualified actuary.
She provides tutorials in Primary and High School Mathematics. She offers help, support and guidance in both school work and in preparation for exams.
She is a patient, approachable and caring tutor and her aim is to get the best out of her students. She will tailor the tutorial to suit the student and try different approaches to help them master the subject. She makes studying fun and not something to dread.
Jackie has a BSc in Mathematics (1st Class Honours) from Exeter University and an MSc and Doctorate (DPhil) in Mathematics from Oxford University. She also has a Diploma in Actuarial Science with Distinction from Heriot Watt University and she is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries (FFA)
She has taught in two private schools in England: a girls’ school for three and a half years and a mixed boarding school for four years. She has taught pupils aged 12 to 18 up to Further Mathematics and Oxbridge Level.
She has also worked as a qualified actuary both on an employed and self employed basis.
Jackie provides tuition in Primary and High School Mathematics at the following levels:
- Primary 5-14: Levels A-F
- Standard Grade: Foundation, General and Credit Levels
- Intermediate: Levels 1 and 2
- Higher
She also provides tuition in the language, information handling and numerical scottish police entrance tests.
