We were recommended to Dave and his team at DSB Property Designs by a friend of ours. Would definitely recommend them to others. Very thorough and understood what we were hoping to achieve. Plans were produced quickly and extremely professional. We wanted to make minor changes and this was never a problem. Always at the end of the phone if we needed to clarify anything.

I have now used David Blacker at DSB Property Services on two separate occasions and if I do further building work in the future there will be no hesitation to use him again. David is very personable and when carrying out the survey keeps you involved at every step of the way to ensure you are on the same page, taking all of your ideas into account and also giving valuable advice. Clear timelines are given on how long the process takes from draft drawings to council sign off and David has never deviated from this. He undertakes all the submissions required and talks directly to the council on your behalf, so you can sit back knowing full well this is all in control and just await regular progress updates. David is friendly and responsive to all questions you may have throughout the process, as are his office staff that cannot do enough to keep you happy. I would recommend DBS to anyone looking to have building work done, you cannot go wrong.

We are really pleased with the design that David Blacker of DSB Property Designs Ltd provided for us. Our project involved converting our existing bungalow into a 2-storey 4-bedroom house and DSB Property Designs dealt with everything from initial concept through to planning and building regulation approvals. David was able to interpret our ideas exactly how we intended and put them into the design for our builders to bring to life and create our dream home. DBS provided property services for our charity when we built 2 extensions on our village hall: one for a shop and one for a table store. From the moment we contacted DSB, we were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and attention to detail. He provided a very detailed fixed cost quote following a careful assessment of what was needed, and some examples of previous work he had completed, including contact details for those customers who were happy to share their experiences with DBS. He responded almost immediately to all emails and 'phone calls and liaised very effectively with the local authority. I would recommend DSB without reservation.

We needed a professional drawing for a driveway application. DSB couldn't be more professional and friendly. They took over the hassle keeping us informed at every stage. I would certainly recommend them.

Project: Supply plans to the Council for planning permission of a new vehicle crossover so as to be able to park vehicles on our property. DSB took measurements with a laser camera to an accuracy of a millimeter. The CAD drawings were completed within days for our approval, there were no issues and DSB submitted the plans to the council which passed approval without issues. DSB was used through recommendation and we were totally impressed with their professionalism. .

When it comes to any building work, finding companies that you can trust is becoming more and more difficult. The reality is that unless you’ve completed a building project before, chances are that you’re going to need some help to have a successful outcome. DSB were able to describe and discuss my requirements in the right level of detail to help us make educated decisions on our build. Would I use DSB? Well, put it this way, I wouldn’t use anybody else! Friends and colleagues advised me to get the planning right “first” time, otherwise I’d be in for stress on another level. I therefore began searching for a reputable company to assist with the project. DSB were suggested to me, but I was initially sceptical as they say that you should “never do business with friends or family”. As it turns out, the owner of DSB is actually both, so it’s with full disclosure that I write this review. I have very high standards (maybe too high at times), so I was always going to be over critical of every little aspect of the build, however the final outcome is better than I anticipated. DSB understand building regulations like no other and with their smart thinking and experience are able to offer solutions and ideas that you’d simply never have thought of yourself. Whilst monitoring the planning progress with our local council I came across other planning submissions and could not believe just how superior the drawings were from DSB, this confirmed very early on that I’d make the right decision to use DSB. Prior to meeting David, my wife and I met with two separate architects. Both architects either seemed disinterested or lead us to believe we could do whatever we wanted with our property. Then we met David. David is extremely thoroughly, punctual and reliable. His plans were drawn to what some of the builders I’ve met described as “the most detailed” they had seen. If ever I needed to ask David a question, I was impressed with his level of detail and prompt response. David also explained the process, step by step enabling me to have more of an understanding of building regulations and procedures etc. David also recommended the builder we are using now who I am extremely pleased with. I would and have recommended David’s services to others.

Dave did an excellent job with the planning stage of our project, which was a rear extension, completing all the required forms and submissions for approval - this was completely touch free for us. We were kept constantly informed of where we were in the process. Our builder commented that the technical plans were some of the best he had seen. We would definitely recommend Dave. .

I found Dave to be both personable and professional. I was having a re-modelling a of a bungalow including a loft conversion. He spent a morning explaining what he would provide, with examples, and finding out what I wanted to do with the house, all under no obligation. Once the contract was confirmed, he visited again with the surveying equipment, and spent several hours mapping the house out. He explained what would happen at each stage and the expected timeline involved. I received a PDF of the draft plans, which I proofed, and after a few corrections, which Dave did quickly with no fuss, submitted for the certificate of lawful development. This went through without a hitch, and once received, he drew up the building regs plans, which again once submitted passed. I would highly recommend DSB Property designs as Dave ensured the process was stress free. Having never had any architechtural/building work done before, we were very trepidatious about starting the large extension to our home. However, a friend recommended DSB Property Designs and we took the plunge. Wow! The planning and meticulous survey and measuring of my property meant that Dave could produce excellent plans and actually gave us three options for the layout of our proposed extension. He explained what his costs would be at each stage and he pushed our plans through the local planning department, without a hitch. His experience was vital in helping us to choose the right builders and building control firm also. Dave recommended our Builders Chase Cross Construction a brilliant family run firm with, many, many years experience. They also, have been absolutely excellent and supplied the expertise to ensure our build has gone without a hitch. They have a real can-do attitude. Gerry and his son Bradley who run the business do everything to a very high standard and employ electricians, plasterers and plumbers who share their ethos. The quality of their work is second to none.Gerry and Bradley have also been able to help us get our kitchen and other materals at a considerable discount.My exstension is now at the final fix stage. Everybody has praised DSB for the accurate, detailed and logical plans. The detail impressed the planning department and minimised the need for changes and expensive delays. It's clear, DSB's attention to detail pays off. Simply put, Dave and DSB got it right first time, saving us money. Phoned and explained what I needed and Dave said he would come to house and give me a quote. He arrived at exactly the time agreed and said he would send quote by E mail which he did later that day. Dave sent a lovely young man called Zak to do plans. He also arrived at the agreed time and did plans which I received about a week later. I would be confident to recommend this company to anyone needing an architect and would hesitate to use them again myself.

Dave surveyed my house and produced a full set of drawings to an exceptional standard. He was always on hand to assist and would not hesitate to recommend.
