Dowden's Martial Arts is a full time Martial Art Studio run by professional Instructors, which runs all year round, We don't stop for public holidays, school holidays or council holidays, our staff go on courses all year round, every year to make shore they are as up to date and as knowledgeable on Taekwon-Do as possible, as well as First Aid and Child protection and Instruction.
TKD Kubz 3 to 6 years.
Focuses on core life skills such as; communication and Inspirational Discipline. The programme heavily rewards what is most important, effort and attitude, working with the parents and carers as well.
TKD Samurai 8 to 11 years Samurais follows on from our TKD Kubz program, focusing more on martial arts skill sets but still retaining the magic parent, teacher, instructor triangle and important life skills.
Adult Taekwondo 12 + Genuine Taekwondo is a very effective form of self defence for all ages and all sizes. TKD is not just the No 1 Martial Art in the world but is also a great way to get fit due to the high burn rate.
The studio is fully kited out with, mats mirrors punch bags, power holder, pads and shields, body protection, etc.
The programme has been developed and perfected over many years. It guides students through each grade, in a fun self-fulfilling way, in a safe positive environment in which all ages and abilities can progress at their own pace.
The centre ensures that in all of the classes there is no more than a 16 student to 1 instructor ratio, thus ensuring an excellent and safe level of tuition for all students.
The instructors go on regular National and International seminars and courses to ensure that the tuition provided is the very best and latest possible.

My son Paul has been going to Mr Dowdens class for two and a half years. It has increased his self confidence and he enjoys classes 3 times a week. As a parent its nice to see the progress they make and the knowledge that your child is learning a skill that could protect him in the future.

Me and my sister are currently students with Mr Dowden. He is extremely professional and a knowledgeable. I feel I have learnt a lot more since I have moved to Mr Dowden's classes. You get individual attention as he has limited class numbers. It's a great way to keep fit, have fun and meet new friends. My name is paul swan myself and my son pj have been training with mr dowden since november the whole experiance has been great fun and a great learning experiance overall i would advice anybody looking to start taekwondo to go to whitburn matrial arts centre i am shure you wont be disapointed.
