I have two Miniature Dachshunds, I have always had dogs but nothing prepared me for how reactive with their barking they would be when out on walks and also around the home. One would set the other off making walk time stressful and not enjoyable. Sarah came to the rescue and with her guidance and advice we are certainly starting to enjoy our walks again and things are definitely quieter around the home. I have just finished a group of 1 2 1 sessions, it’s still work in progress and taking time and effort but we’re definitely going in the right direction. We really enjoyed working with Sarah who is very friendly, approachable, and adaptable. My dogs instantly connected with her, I was amazed. It’s very reassuring to know that Sarah is there for me should I need her again in the future to help me with my dogs. Thanks again Sarah for all of your help and support, we look forward to seeing you again.
I've been taking my 2 dogs Lilly and Millie to dog club run by DOGSKOOL for around 3 years. Every week the activities are varied and enjoyable for both dogs and owners. I also love how we work with our dogs towards an obedience challenge wihich is a series of behaviours including tricks and heelwork where the winning dog gets a tropy. Both dogs get so much out of dog club and as an owner it has taught me many different things that i carry on using at home between classes.
Definitely worth the money, which I have to say is very good value in comparison to others that I looked at. I took my dog for obedience classes over 12 months ago. Even though I have been around dogs all my life every dog is different and has different ways of learning and Sarah gives you good tips and information sheets to practice with your dog. Also play a few games and gets your dog used to socialising with other dogs. Have now started at agility classes with Sarah which my dog absolutely loves. I would definitely recommend Dogskool!
Sarah is professional, well trained and down to earth. She is passionate about what she does and how she does it. If I have had a question or didn’t understand, Sarah has made sure that she fully explains and checks back later to ensure that I am up to speed. I have never felt that she has pushed me for money or sold me something that was irrelevant. I have found her to be encouraging and willing to try different things. Dogs can be frustrating but Sarah shows you how to have patience, work with the dog and above all that it is you and your attitude and behaviour that influences the way your dog behaves.
I have just finished reading the review posted by "Jane Doe", and would like to share my experience of Dogskool. 12 Months ago I rescued a very willful and energetic 1 year old Terrier cross called Lola. I would not call Lola an aggressive dog but her manners when meeting other dogs for the first time needed attention. I contacted Sarah and arranged a home visit, which lasted around 2 hours which I found really informative. We then attended a Dog meets Dog course with 4 other dogs and then enrolled for the 8 week Dog Obedience course. I am delighted with the progress Lola has made, especially when we go for a walk. Her attitude towards other dogs has changed so much I am now in the process of rescuing another dog. I will definitely be enrolling ny new dog with Dogskool.
I would also like to post my experiences here, having read the review by " Jane Doe ". We rescued a very bouncy and assertive! husky a few months ago that would literally take off and pull me over and I struggled to control him. Sarah came to the house and spent probably 2 1/2 hours with me and the dog, which was £60. That morning was one of the best £60 I have ever spent as from then on I could walk him with full control using a few simple methods advised. Blue was very difficult to control when other dogs barked or were near by and we went to the dog to dog classes to see if this would help us both. These were three one hour sessions with only about 5 dogs and plenty of space and cost £50, again I thought good value. We got the opportunity to work with our dogs near other dogs in a controlled environment, and I have seen a vast improvement both in the dog and my skill level! We are now going to the basic obedience class- I asked it wasnt pushed, six sessions for £50. I have also bought one or two things like leads, halty and these seem to be priced really reasonably, in fact i would doubt they are making that much profit as prices seem similar/ slightly less than a pet supermarket. I certainly have found Sarah and her helper really engaged and helpful, nd cant thank them enough for their efforts.Moreexpand_more
Just read "Jane Doe's" review of Dogskool and thought I would post my experience of Dogskool, Sarah and the Dog Meets Dog course. We rescued a 2 year old mini boxer dog early on this year and by pure chance found Sarah and Dogskool in the local telephone directory (although I've since discovered from our Vet and past graduates of Dogskool Sarah comes highly recommended). Our "little delight" had not been socialized by her previous owners so although a very loving dog in her own home she was wary of other people and especially other dogs. We had one to one sessions with Sarah to begin with which led onto us being able to do the Dog Meets Dog course. As a result of Sarahs teachings we (as well as the others on the Dog Meets Dog course! ) are now doing the Obedience Class from which we hope to graduate in a couple of weeks. We have never felt that we were being pushed for more money or sessions and the Obedience Class at £50 for an eight week course I would call good value. Sarah has all sizes and breeds of dogs in her classes. You as the dog owner are taught the methods for training your dog but its does not happen overnight, it takes time, patience, practice and more practice! We have good weeks and bad weeks but have come such a long way thanks to Dogskool. We will definitely want to carry on and do other classes.Moreexpand_more
