About DMH Architectural Services
DMH Architectural services is a company providing Planning and technical drawing service to private commercial and trade customer with added take-off service and site supervision if required.
Some small schemes are exempt planning and classed as permissible developments. Most new buildings, major changes to existing buildings or to the local environment need planning consent. Whether you are planning to extend up, out or down, it is always best to check with your local Council's Planning Department as to whether you need planning permission before embarking on any kind of building project. We can help you.
Whether or not planning permission is required, anyone wanting to carry out building work is required by law to make sure it complies with the relevant Building Regulations. The construction industry is covered by the Construction (Design and Managment) regulations for health and safety. All construction professional should carry insurance either professional indemnity, public liability, employers' liability or a combination there of. Always check.
Now is the time you may be considering your environment and looking at redesigning your home and a possible extension.
We have taken the decision not to do surveys of occupied properties whilst the stay at home policy is in-situ. We understand some of our competitors are doing surveys whilst maintaining social distancing, we along with guidance from our professional indemnity insurance provider, have taken this decision to protect our customers. The thought of potentially being responsible for passing on the virus is in our opinion too great. Our clients are very important to us.
We will provide a quotation for the work using google maps and then ask you to do some key dimensions and take photos of your property and we can consult with you over the phone, email, text, messenger and WhatsApp. This information is to do the design and planning drawings only. We hope within the planning process time the social distanceing rules will be lifted enough for us to later then come and check dimensions before commencing the detailed building control working drawings. This may mean extra time for us in correcting the base drawing slightly, the cost of which will NOT be passed onto our customers.
We are still open for business and ensure you of our continued commitment.
Although good builders tend to be booked up for summer now and these time scales are being pushed forward, some may have projects cancelled due to customer finances and so most builders are still providing quotations for future work. Remember it's worth waiting for the right builder.
Lastly and most importantly a BIG THANK YOU to all the essential services, NHS, Shops and Supermarkets, Delivery Drivers, Refuse collectors, Dockers, Public Transport Drivers, Fire and Police crews, Army, Navy and RAF, Construction workers, Farmers and Engineers of all kinds keeping our machinery and computers running, you are all doing a fantastic job and finally YOU for carrying out your part by staying at home!
If we all do our bit this will be over soon.
