Unlike many ‘experienced trainers’, Dan actually takes time to listen to you, to what you want to achieve and to any concerns or questions that you may have. He treats and respects you as an individual and works with you, offering advice, guidance and support, to help you achieve your goals. It’s very reassuring to know that you’re not alone and that you’ve got someone to work with on your journey. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Dan throughout 2012 and feel confident that, with his help, I will achieve my goals and more. ”. Jelena Hague.
I was looking to rebuild my running after injury, and to train for a half marathon. The studio was welcoming and Dan tailored my training to a recovery. I always feel pushed in my training sessions and re-motivated. Also when needed I get to release some stress with some boxing. I would certainly recommend Dan to everyone looking to train for any reason or fitness goal.
I arrived at Dan's training with the hope of getting fit and losing weight to discover that 'personal training' is exactly what it say's. Dan paces and stretches me, is very aware of how far to stretch me and encourage me. This is not the traditional gym - it's so much better and I feel very safe. I had not realised how much I would enjoy getting fit.
As a sufferer of Rheumatoid Arthritis, with a seriously damaged body, I was given Dan's name to see if he could help reduce levels of weight, pain and help regain balance and repair damaged muscle and bone. His care and attention is benefiting me quite remarkably. With him I am able to aim high.
The training I do is directly suited to my needs and the level at which I work is increased only when I am ready to move on. The personal attention I get from Dan is second to none, he is always encouraging and tells me when I have done well and pushes me to exceed my own expectations.
I started running a couple of years ago aged 51 and really wanted to do the Great North Run. I was struggling to up my mileage without being wiped out for days! I found Dan and with his personal guidance and support, I learned techniques to help me and completed the GNR this year. Dan has inspired me to continue running and even moderating my diet!
I always look forward to my personal training sessions with Dan. I get easily bored when it comes to exercise but Dan mixes things up with different activities such as the VibroGym, AlterG treadmill and my current favourite, boxing! Dan puts you at ease and makes every training session really enjoyable whilst pushing you to work harder than you would on your own. Highly recommended.
Dan has been providing bi-weekly group sessions for Swindon Tri-Club and following on from that I went along to his studio in Cheltenham where I used the Watt Bike and Anti-Gravity running machine together with the vibroplates. From this I have learnt that my hamstrings don't engage as well as they should and I have been using the exercises Dan has taught me to improve this. I am going back again to see how much I have improved.
Brilliant - Dan has helped me with my stroke rehab, having had a stroke in July 2010, spending 16 wks in Cheltenham hospital in rehab,2 mths at home, a further 10 wks in a neuro rehab centre in Oxford,I started to work with Dan in March and my stamina has gone from strength to strength, he has helped me gain the independence I need to go out and walk on my own. I am driving, I can go shopping. I just feel a whole lot fitter and able to do things I used to do pre stroke, and Dan has helped me achieve this. I now walk over 2km on the treadmill, and improve and get more usage with my arm.
I have only had an initial review and 2 sessions in the gym with Dan but my pace has increased to what it was 2 years ago. The equipment he provides does produce results and he is at hand encouraging and pushing which is what I need. If I continue to improve over the remaining sessions that I have booked I will be more than pleased.
I first made contact with Dan 7 months ago after I had applied for my first London Marathon. I was overweight, unfit and had no idea where to start with any training. Dan encouraged me to believe in myself and was extremely patient during our training sessions, even at times when my body let me down with recurring injuries. I am now 2 stone lighter and successfully completed the Marathon in 5 hours 48 mins, a time I am very proud of. I can truthfully say Dan has changed my life for the better, his commitment and determination is amazing. I will continue to train with Dan and would highly recommend him to anyone I know.
I decided that I wanted to incorporate a personal trainer's advice to go along with the training that that I was already carrying out and also to supplement and vary the exercise that I was doing. I have been boxing with Dan for approx 2 months now and I enjoy every session. He knows how to motivate without being pushy and does pull the best of you out with every session. I feel that I have gained more having worked with Dan than I ever would alone. I highly reccommend him.
I have been associated with Dan for over 30 months, he has helped me in my efforts to get fit and lose weight. He is extremely enthusiastic about his subject and this helps to motivate those around him. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to any one who wants to improve their well being.
