The cottage is surrounded by its own gardens, woodland and nestling on the banks of a beautiful bustling river, the Brathay. With its own private river frontage this wonderful setting has all that the Lake District can offer at its best. Natural beauty, wildlife in abundance, fantastic walks from the door and country pubs within easy reach. Skelwith Bridge is a small hamlet situated on the outskirts of Ambleside.

Skelwith Bridge is within the heart of the Langdale Valley it therefore offers all of the natural beauty associated with this area of the Lake District. Whilst away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist traps. The cottage is in easy reach of towns such as Ambleside, Grasmere, Hawkshead and Coniston with the lakes, cruises, shops, bars and restaurants that they have to offer. Alternatively you can walk to some of the local beauty spots such as Tarn Hows, Loughrigg Tarn, Skelwith or Colwith Force.
